"Unter Strom": Cover mit Überlandleitung

Die Überlandleitung als elektrisierendes Symbol in der Coverkunst schreit nur so vor Symbolik, sei es für Bratzgitarren, Britzelelektronik, Blitzableiterjazz oder Atomschmelzimprovisationen. Und als ECM-Atmo-Landschaft natürlich auch.

Daher hier jetzt rein: Cover mit Überlandleitung.

Na gut, dann fang ich mal an:

Keiji Haino, Jim O’Rourke, Oren Ambarchi – I Wonder If You Noticed ”I’m Sorry” Is Such A Lovely Sound It Keeps Things From Getting Worse (2016)

der supergruppen-freirock der drei hier mal nicht mit „entweder krach oder stille oder ohrenschneider-synths“, sondern alles wird über vier plattenseiten eher zusammenverkrautet und -amalgamiert. dafür ist „I Wonder If You Noticed …“ aber musikalisch eine der besten und konzentriertesten aus der reihe. e-lärmstomper, böses bassgrummeln, dunkles synths-quaken, seltsame akustikinstrumente, ambarchi hält an den drums zusammen. und haino grollt in englisch statt japanisch, aber eigentlich grollt er sprachenlos.

im gatefold ist noch mehr überlandkabel, aber ich habe keine bilder gefunden. vielleicht stelle ich sie mal in discogs rein. Fotos hat jim o’rourke gemacht. ich vermute in japan, seiner wahlheimat. dort, wo sich krähenvögel aus stählernen kleiderbügeln, die sie von den balkons klauen, ihre nester bauen.
