Remain In Light war für meine musikalische Sozialisation ziemlich bedeutend. Kann man das überhaupt covern? Ich glaube Phish haben das gesamte Album mal live gespielt, oder? Eigenartig, wie sich Angélique Kidjos Re-Appropriation des Fake-Afrobeats der Taking Heads anhört. Bei den TH klang das dicht und angespannt, bei AK klingt das transparent und gelassen. Je mehr sie sich von der Vorlage entfernt, desto interessanter hört sich das für mich an. Die Live-Version von Crosseyed And Painless, nur von Gitarre und Perkussion begleitet, gefällt mir bislang am besten. Groovt sehr schön elastisch.
