Ich weiß zwar nicht, welche Lieder Du meinst, die sofort totgehört werden, aber EVERLASTING LIGHT ist auch für mich einer der Höhepunkte des Albums BROTHERS. Das wiederum ist mit RUBBER FACTORY einer meiner Favoriten der Black Keys. Eins der deutlich soul-beeinflussten Stücke der Keys, nicht nur musikalisch, sondern auch vom Text her, den man sowohl religiös als auch als Liebeslied verstehen kann, etwas was man beim Soul öfter mal findet:
Let me be your everlasting light
The sun when there is none
I’m a shepherd for you
And I’ll guide you through
Let me be your everlasting light
Dan Auerbach singt da außerdem Falsett, was den Song noch näher in Richtung Soul rückt.
