Bei Duke Ellington hiess die Nummer am Ende „Happy-Go-Lucky Local“ – dass Ellington nie was gegen Forrest unternommen hat, wird als Zeichen dafür gedeutet, dass das Stück von Forrest stammt (der ab 1948 kurz bei Ellington war) … allerdings gibt es das Haupt-Riff beim Duke schon 1940 als „That’s the Blues, Old Man“ (von einer Small Group mit Johnny Hodges):

Vier Alben aus der Liste wurden nur über Stream gehört. Im Prinzip wäre eine erweiterte Liste noch offen für die ersten drei Alben von Herbie Hancock, vielleicht noch ein Album von Dexter Gordon und eins von Big John Patton („Let Em Roll“), oder weitere Entdeckungen („Thinking Of Home“ vielleicht). „Happenings“ könnte eine höhere Platzierung bekommen, aber das bleibt jetzt so. Da verstehe ich nicht so ganz die Bewertung im Penguin Guide, wo aber „Time For Tyner“ 4 Sterne bekommt und „Page One“ oder „Inner Urge“ nicht mal die Krone. Bewertungen sind ganz oft ungerecht.

Auswertungs-Zwischenstand:
Es gibt 11 Erstnennungen von @thelonica, vier davon direkt an der Spitze.
Nach 12 Listen wurden insgesamt 158 Alben genannt, 78 davon mindestens 2 mal. Es gibt aktuell ein Album mit 11 Nennungen, ein Album mit 9 Nennungen sowie drei Alben mit 7 Nennungen. Zudem gibt es auch mit dieser Liste wieder eine neue #1.
Das Verhältnis zwischen Hackensack und Englewood Cliffs liegt aktuell bei 3:6 innerhalb der Top 10, in New York wurde einmal aufgenommen.
Was die Ensemblegröße innerhalb der Top 10 betrifft, so führen die Quintette mit 5 vor den Quartetten und den Sextetten mit jeweils 2 Stimmen. 7 Alben in der Top 10 haben die Höchstnote im Penguin Guide, zwei liegen bei 3,5.--

Und wie sieht es mit dem Clifford Brown Memorial Album aus? Ist ja eigentlich eine compilation. Vollends ausscheiden nach den Kriterien zu urteilen dürfte auch Money Jungle, da es kein original BN release ist.

naaaaaaaaaaaaaa, never ever, wo kommen wir dann blos hin, nehmen wir doch die wax-vö der Originale mit dazu, da werden dann die Alben schlechter durch die bonus tracks…

Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...So, dann bin ich endlich so weit … hat mich manchmal etwas gestresst, aber auch grossartigen Spass gemacht. Ich habe knapp 600 Alben wiedergehört, viele natürlich nur einmal, aber einige Dutzend auch mehrmals, manchmal intensiv den ganzen Tag mit einem Musiker verbracht, dann wieder herumgesprungen zwischen Orgeljazz, Hard Bop und der BN-Avantgarde … das Ranking ist so bis Platz 75 relativ präzis, dahinter habe ich es relativ schnell gemacht, um überhaupt zu einem Ende zu kommen (ich hatte grob die Gruppen: Top 30, 75, 100, 150, 200 und 250 und innerhalb derer dann nochmal gruppiert – die Hauptbeschäftigung heute

Ich hab das Fass halt schon seit einigen Jahren (spätestens mit den SHM-CDs von 2014) ziemlich bis zum Boden erforscht, wenigstens was die Jahre von Lion/Wolff/Pearson angeht.
