Flohmarkt- Händler bis zu Götz Bühler … lieber Götz, Du bist schon gut aufgestellt, aber was jetzt kommt …) Beim Buddeln im Netz habe ich auch Mats Gustafsson (kenne ich aus diversen Konzerten) gefunden, und der erzählt Folgendes (seine Krankheit nennt er „Discaholic“): https://matsgus.com/discaholic_corner/ „Have you got any wild tales tracking down records? I found a record on eBay years ago, a British record by Howard Riley with Barry Guy called Discussions. This record was made in only 99 copies because of a tax thing in England and it’s a bit of a holy grail in UK free jazz history. This guy in Lithuania had a copy on eBay and I got in touch with him outside of eBay so that I could talk to him directly. And he said to put an extremely high bid in and then I would get it and then we could talk about how to do it. He knew who I was, and this is one great advantage of being a musician: some people maybe even like or at least know about you. So what we agreed was that I would come up and play a solo concert in Lithuania and the fee would be this record. So we made a deal, I went up there, played a solo concert and got the record and was very happy. Schöne Investigation! Auf Gustafssons Website war ich schon länger nicht mehr. Lohnt sich eigentlich immer, da ein bisschen rumzuklicken. Die Fotos auf der Vinyl Factory-Site von ihm und seiner Tochter sind auch klasse. Könnten direkt aus einem Katalog hochwertiger schwedischer Möbel entnommen sein.

If you try acting sad, you'll only make me glad.Ist halt ärgerlich, dass im Vergleich zu den CDs einerseits 25 Minuten Bonus dazugegeben wurden, während andererseits an in diversen Stellen sowas wie eine Stunde Musik weggelassen würde… So dass es die definitive Ausgabe dieser Musik bis auf weiteres nicht geben wird…

If you try acting sad, you'll only make me glad.Es wäre vermutlich die bessere Entscheidung gewesen, die CDs nach und nach einzeln oder in Form von Boxen (Vol. 1, Vol. 2, etc.) zu veröffentlichen, als in dieser Form von Gemischtwarenladen.

Ich muss gerade schmunzeln. In obigen Link hatten wir ja gesehen, dass Mats schon ein ganz besonderes Bürschlein ist, was das Plattensuchen, -finden und -einsortieren angeht. Im Jazz-Podium 06/07 2025 ist ein fünfseitiger Artikel von John Corbett erschienen, mit Bildern, die wir zum Teil schon kennen (hier wie da von Ziga Koritnik). John erzählt, dass Mats jetzt einen neuen Spleen hat: er befreit alle LPs von ihren PVC-Schutzhüllen. „Das PVC zerstört sowohl die Hüllen als auch das Vinyl, wenn es mit Hitze oder direktem Sonnenlicht in Berührung kommt.“ Abgesehen von der Tatsache, dass solche Gefahren in Gustafssons Basement wohl nicht drohen (wie die Bilder zumindest nahelegen), habe ich mir gedacht: na hoffentlich schmeißt er nicht auch gleich alle LPs weg, die sind nämlich auch aus PVC …
