Currently, there is no insider info to be had as of yet. The general assumption is that the set will contain the original Mono mix, a 2014 Stereo remix, along with a collection of demos and singles, b-sides, etc, etc. And while five CDs seem a bit much, it will be interesting to see just what will be in the box. The Who’s debut album My Generation will be reissued as a five-disc super deluxe edition box set in November and will feature a wealth of material, including unreleased songs, recently discovered album demos and new stereo mixes…
The set comprises five CDs, with the first disc featuring 2016 remastering of the original mono mix of the 1965 album. The second CD delivers a stereo remix which was created using new overdubs from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. To ensure this was done sympathetically, Pete used exactly the same guitars and amps as the original album and Roger used same type of microphone. Until now, these mixes have only been available via iTunes, so this box set is the physical debut of these mixes (which were created in 2014).
CDs three and four contain 44 bonus tracks in mono and stereo and between them include 27 previously unreleased alternate mixes and a further four that have only been available digitally.
The final fifth disc contains the demo recordings. Pete apparently discovered these demos in 2015 during a break in touring. These include three totally unreleased songs that The Who have never revisited: The Girls I Could Have Had, As Children We Grew and My Own Love.
Of these demos, Pete commented “Gathering these demos for this collection has been enjoyable; it’s wonderful for me to have these tapes made fifty-two years ago to listen to. I hope you enjoy them. They have a naiveté and innocence, a simplicity and directness, and an ingenuousness that reveals me as a young man struggling to keep up with the more mature and developed men around me. What an incredible group of strong, talented, young and engaging men they were!”
Who super deluxe editions always deliver excellent books and the 80-page tome that comes with this set looks to be no exception. It features the usual ‘rare’ photos and new notes from Pete Townshend and images of period memorabilia.
This 79-track super deluxe edition of My Generation will be released on 18 November 2016.

WerbungBOB MARLEY – „The Legend Live – Santa Barbara County Bowl: September 25th 1980“ (CD+DVD)
One of the last Bob Marley live performances committed to film before his untimely death in May 1981, ‘The Legend Live’ features the Tuff Gong in his full pomp, performing 21 of his most popular works at the Santa Barbara County Bowl on the 25th of November 1979.
Now widely considered an equal of the now legendary ‘Live at the Rainbow’ show from 1977, the concert includes superb versions of such major hits as ‘I Shot The Sheriff’, ‘One Drop’, ‘Exodus’, ‘Jamming’, ‘Is This Love’, ‘Stir It Up’ and the anthemic ‘Get Up Stand Up’.
The concert footage on the DVD runs for approximately 90 minutes, with the disc also featuring the 51 minute documentary ‘Prophecies and Messages’, which includes half an hour of interview footage with Bob Marley and the Wailers’ keyboard player, Tyrone Downie.
The audio disc comprises the very best of the band’s performances from the night, most of which have never previously been released on CD.
Presented in a handsomely designed 2 disc digipack, the release is to be exhaustively promoted via Trojan’s website, facebook page, twitter, YouTube channel and mailing list, with reviews actively solicited from all the significant periodicals and sites.

RUSH – „2112“ (SuperDeluxeEdition) (2CD+DVD / 2CD+DVD+2LP)
On December 16, Mercury Records will release a remastered and expanded 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of 2112 called 2112 40th. And filled with riches worthy of the lyrics of a Rush tune.
There will be three variations of 2112 that will include a 2CD/1DVD Deluxe set, a massive all-inclusive Super Deluxe Edition, DD, and a 200g-weight 3LP set.
The 2CD and DVD Deluxe Edition will provide the original album with 2015 remastering found on the first CD. The second CD will offer rare material from the album’s period including live performance tracks, and some previously unreleased songs from the period. The DVD will provide a video of a full 1976 concert from their show at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ. Also found on the DVD will be a new interview with Alex Lifeson, and their long-time engineer and producer, Terry Brown. there are other segments included as well.
The 3LP vinyl set will offer not only the etched art found on the 2015 vinyl edition, but will also include an exclusive Starman turntable mat.
The Super Deluxe Edition will provide the 2CDs, the DVD, and the 3LP vinyl package in one purchase. Also included in that huge set will be two 12″x 12″ lithographs, a reprint of a show program (Massey Hall), three buttons (one with each band member), and with the first 1000 pre-orders, a bonus 7″ ‘big hole’ vinyl single of “The Twilight Zone” b/w “Lessons”. As an extra bonus, a newly designed 45 adapter ring will be included. All of the sets will be housed in a velvet lined box.

Erste Infos:
Considered one of the great Rock and Roll albums in release, Fresh Cream certainly rocked! It was the 1966 debut release of the newly formed super group, Cream, which boasted the instruments of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce. Cream would go on to create the extraordinary Disraeli Gears (1967) that contained “Strange Brew”, and “Sunshine Of Your Love”. That was followed by Wheels Of Fire (1968) with “White Room”, and Goodbye (1969). Over the years, these classic albums have been remastered and reissued with extras.
On January 27, watch for a 4disc definitive edition of Fresh Cream. It will be bolstered by a sizable book no doubt stuffed to capacity with history, photos, labels shots, liner notes, essays, memorabilia, and more. This is one to have in your library if you’re a Cream fan.
On the three CDs, there will be the UK edition of the mono original along with outtakes, singles, and EPs, he original album in Stereo with outtakes, remixes and alternate versions of tracks, and a CD of early versions, demos, and BBC recordings. The fourth disc is a Blu-ray Audio with 96kHz/24-bit of both the US Mono and Stereo mixes plus bonus tracks.

CHICAGO – „II“ (Steve Wilson Remix)
The second album by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends Chicago is coming back to CD in a newly remixed edition. On January 27, Rhino will issue Chicago II: Steven Wilson Remix, featuring an all-new stereo mix of Chicago’s classic 1970 double album from the producer-engineer behind acclaimed remixes for progressive bands such as Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
The creativity and innovation of the band formerly known as Chicago Transit Authority surged more than ever on its second straight double album. Chicago (now known as Chicago II) earned the group and producer James William Guercio a string of U.S. pop hits including „Make Me Smile“ (No. 9), „Colour My World“ (No. 7) and „25 or 6 to 4“ (No. 4), but that didn’t mean Chicago was simplifying the expansive approach behind its first jazz-rock opus. „Make Me Smile“ and „Colour My World“ were excerpted from the album’s centerpiece, composer James Pankow’s seven-part, 13-minute song suite „Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon.“ Terry Kath supplied a four-part classically inspired suite „Memories of Love“, and Lamm – already the songwriter of the first album’s hits „Beginnings“ and „Does Everybody Really Know What Time It Is“ – supplied „25 or 6 to 4“ as well as teaming with Kath and Walter Parazaider to write the politically-charged „It Better End Soon.“ The band’s breakthrough, Chicago II reached No. 4 in the U.S. and No. 6 across the pond.
Steven Wilson worked from the original 16-track tapes to create his new remix. He’s quoted by Rhino in the press release: „Working with high-resolution 96K/24 bit digitally transferred files, I had every element from the recording sessions isolated, which meant I was able to rebuild the mix from the drums upwards, recreating as closely as I could the equalization, stereo placement, reverbs, other effects, and volume changes of each individual instrument or vocal – but at the same time looking to gain definition and clarity in the overall sound.“ He continues, „So rich was their creative seam at the time that, like their debut, and the album that followed this one, it was a two record set. In fact, with unprecedented boldness the run of double albums was only broken by their fourth which was a quadruple (live) set! I consider all of these albums to be classics, but perhaps Chicago II is the pre-eminent masterpiece. It’s got everything: moments of tender beauty to power riffs and scorched-earth jazz-rock, catchy melodies and gorgeous vocal harmonies. When I first heard it as a teenager I was captivated by the mixture of jazz, blues, pop, classical, progressive and heavy rock styles, including both improvisational elements and intricate arrangements, and by songs written and sung by several different members, all with their own unique personality. How could that possibly hang together?! But it does, and brilliantly so.“
Wilson’s remix of the platinum album will be released by Rhino on January 27, 2017 in CD format, with an LP edition to follow later in the year. Surprisingly, no high-resolution format release has yet been announced, nor has a new surround mix – a Wilson specialty. (Chicago II has already been released on DVD-Audio in 5.1 surround as well as, more recently, in Blu-ray Audio in its original 4.0 quadraphonic mix as part of the box set Quadio.)

JUDAS PRIEST – „Turbo“ (3CD, 30th Anniversary Edition)
Judas Priest has slowly but consistently been updating their catalog releases with new remastering and extended sets. Their last update was Defenders Of The Faith (1984), reissued as a 3CD Deluxe Edition.
On February 3. Legacy will revisit the catalog of Judas Priest with a 3CD Deluxe Edition of Turbo. Turbo was the band’s tenth studio album released in 1986 making 2016 the 30th Anniversary. This new edition of Turbo will feature not only newly remastered audio, but will add in two CDs covering the full live show from the 1986 support tour, Fuel For Life. The show represented is from the Kemper Arena date in Kansas City.
