(Keith Richards) | The fact that there's a highway to hell but only a stairway to heaven says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers.War für mich eine der schönsten – weil völlig unerwarteten – Überraschungen des Klassikjahres … auf alpha ist in Sachen Barock aber eigentlich eh verlass (ihre Aufnahmen von Standard – also Klassik und Romantik – Repertoire brauche ich hingegen eher nicht, einfach weil ich da meistens schon mehr als gut ausgestattet bin).
Ist übrigens dasselbe Label, das hinter der Bach-CD steht, von dem ich diese eine Arie entnahm (die auch da als einziger Auszug aus der betreffenden Kantate zu finden ist).

Danke, ich gab mir ja bei allen Blöcken Mühe (z.B. meist ein Piano-Solo oder -Duo – einmal halt ein Cello-Solo – als Intro für die Lieder), aber die Auswahl der Stücke war zuerst da …

Übrigens: bei Brahem wie beim Album von Vijay Iyer war ECM schnell mit Veröffentlichen … Iyer ist natürlich präsent, ein Künstler unserer schnellebigen Tage, warum Brahems Album nicht auch zwei, drei Jahre warten musste, weiss nur der Herr Eicher. Aber wir haben so – hoffentlich – zwei, drei Jahre mehr, um es zu geniessen.
