Hier noch ein Bericht vom Karlsruher Konzert, den ich auf der Vantrades Seite gefunden habe:

Van yesterday, 19 july, at „The Fest“-festival, Karlsruhe, Germany:
A wonderful day, bright sunshine, a wonderful venue: the stage in
front of a hill. Most of the crowd where sitting in the gras,
whatching relaxed the artists. The festival was completely free. Some
Woodstock feeling was in the air.
First a great gig with Candy Dulfer & Funky Stuff, about 1h15. very
good.
All this circumstances have put the Man in a very good mood. The
concert was fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! I think it was the best
this year till now. Van was smiling, stomping, handclapping and near
to dancing. And presented best of his voice artistic.
Candy may not be Richtie Buckley (although she looks a bit nicer).
But she’s always the Prometheus who brings the funky spark to the old
boys.
Matt did a good job as the head of hornsection and directed Candy’s
parts very well.
I may be wrong but I think Robin Aspland was back at the keyboards.

Before spreading any recordings of this show in lower quality: The
German radiostation SWR1 has taped the show and it will be aired
(probably) on 4 August 02.
The setlist:

1. Inarticulate Speech Of The Heart
2. Whining Boy Moan
3. Midnight Special
4. Days Like This
5. Baby Please Don’t Go
6. Meet Me In The Indian Summer

8. Vanlose Stairway > Trans-Euro Train (Ned tried to destroy it

Hört sich ziemlich vielversprechend an. War sonst noch jemand da? Wie waren die Eindrücke?
It`s all in the game.

Captain Beefheart to audience: Is everyone feeling all right? Audience: Yeahhhhh!!! awright...!!! Captain Beefheart: That's not a soulful question, that's a medical question. It's too hot in here.
