Slept through the screening but I bought the DVDHighlights von Rolling-Stone.deWerbungNa das ist doch schön (was wohl das ‚closed‘ am Ende bedeuten mag?), fantastischer Drummer jedenfalls. Ich hoffe sie finden einen Weg wie sie damit künftig umgehen. Wenn’s denn das Ende der Band sein soll then be it. Sie haben doch längst Geschichte geschrieben, in ganz grossen Lettern. Beste Unterhaltung für Millionen, und das über mehr als ein halbes Jahrhundert. Grandiose Leistung, und das bleibt ja auch erhalten.

In 1984, the Stones were in Amsterdam. Keith and Mick returned to the hotel at 5:00 AM. Mick wanted to talk with Charlie. “Don’t call him, not at this time,” said Keith. “But he did, and said: ‘Where is my drummer?’ There was no answer, and he hung up the phone.”
According to Keith, 20 minutes later someone knocked on the door of the room he was in with Mick. It was Charlie Watts, who far from showing up in his pajamas at that hour, looked perfectly dressed in a suit, tie and perfume. “I opened the door and he didn’t even look at me he walked right past me stood in front of Mick and said ‘Never call me your drummer again I`m not your drummer, you are my damn singer.‘ Then he grabbed him by the lapels of his jacket. and gave him a right hook “, Richards recounted.

Wo waren denn die Stones 1984 in Amsterdam gemeinsam unterwegs? Geht es vielleicht um 1975 in Rotterdam? Ich glaube so ganz sattelfest ist Richards nicht mit seinen Daten für Zahlenfüchse. Den Vorfall selbst nehme ich ihn natürlich ab und es spricht durch und durch für den guten Charlie. Das lässt Jagger nicht bei vielen Leuten durchgehen, da bin ich mir sicher.

Hört sich an wie eine Szene aus einem Marx Brothers Film. Womöglich stand Keith unter Einfluss berauschender Substanzen, wodurch eine preußische Ohrfeige von Watts in seinen Augen zu einem Kinnhaken wurde.

Passt so gar nicht zu seinem sonstigen Wesen von Charlie.
Genau. Ich finde die Geschichte auch unpassend, weil sie Watts so gar nicht entspricht. In späteren Interviews hat er ja auch gesagt, dass er die Aktion (sowohl von Mick als auch von ihm) nicht gut fand, er, Charlie, war halt betrunken. Und dafür hat sich geschämt. Charlie war ein Gentleman, fertig.--

Ist Dein Shirt ein Boot? Die gab es ja früher zuhauf.Dein Laden hieß „Tattoo You“? Wie großartig, @stormy-monday! Gibt es noch ein Logo oder ein Schild, das am Laden hing? Unbedingt posten!
Die Amplified Shirts sind lizensiert und nutzen Prints, die es tatsächlich mal irgendwann früher gab. Im Zuge der anstehenden Deluxe-Auflagen brauchte ich dringend (!) angemessene Kleidung. Das Shirt, das Du gepostet hast, finde ich auch ganz ausgezeichnet. Im Stones Store habe ich auch eines bestellt, welches das Cover Design aufnimmt (Klick!).
