Ein Lieblingssong von mir. Haben die Waterboys auch am 13.11.2019 gespielt (wo ich das Foto von dem Konzert im Waterboys-Thread hochgeladen hatte). Das war ein berührendes Live-Erlebnis. Bei der Gelegenheit möchte ich auf den Song „Once Were Brothers“ vom 2022er Waterboys-Album „All Souls Hill“ aufmerksam machen. Eine ganz starke, textlich geänderte Version des Robbie Robertson-Songs. Von ähnlicher Emotionalität getragen wie „In My Time On Earth“.
Mit der Originalfrau im Duett? Mit mein am meisten gehörtes Stück seit ich es entdeckt habe. Danke für den Tip Wo gehst Du zur Band

The Waterboys – Live at Rhein-Main Theater, Niedernhausen, 13.11.2019Ein rundum gelungener Set, eine musikalische Reise zwischen Rock- und Folkmusik. Set 1 dauerte 60 Minuten, Set 2 80 Minuten. Wir haben die Waterboys in den 80ern 2x live open-air erlebt. Über 30 Jahre später hat die Band um Mike Scott nichts von ihrer Faszination eingebüßt. Die Band bot eine reichhaltige Auswahl an Waterboys-Kompositionen mit einigen erweiterten mitreißenden Instrumentalsoli! The Waterboys auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer musikalischen Fähigkeiten. Eine energische Interpretation von Fisherman’s Blues, zunächst drei Lieder vom This Is The Sea-Album: Medicine Bow, der Titelsong und ein nachdenkliches Old England, Nashville Tennessee mit Scotts Ansage, dass Brother Paul Brown, der amerikanische Keyboarder der Waterboys, „seine Seele in Memphis, aber seinen Hintern in Nashville“ hat, Blues For Baker, eine Hommage an Ginger Baker natürlich in Form eines Drum-Solos, mit We Will Not Be Lovers, Morning Came Too Soon und Too Close To Heaven drei weitere Highlights. Zum Finale ein bewegendes In My Time On Earth, meinem Lieblingssong vom neuen Album. Sowieso fügten sich die Songs des neuen Albums problemlos in die Setlist ein. Als Zugabe The Whole Of The Moon, von Scott solo am Piano dargeboten.
Wir hätten auch gerne was vom Debütalbum, der A Pagan Place sowie den Glastonbury Song gehört. Aber man kann halt nicht alles haben.
Die Setlist von diesem Auftritt liegt nicht vor, aber diese kommt ihr sehr nahe, auch von der Reihenfolge. Auf jeden Fall muss der 2. Set noch um Too Close To Heaven ergänzt werden.Merci
