Ich habe es ursprünglich im Thread „The Chesterfields – New Modern Homes (VÖ: 23.9.2022)“ gepostet, aber da liest niemand. Da an der letzten Chesterfields-Platte doch einige interessiert waren, habe ich mich nun entschlossen, einen neuen Thread aufzumachen.

We are excited to announce that the debut album by Simon Chesterfield will be released by Legere Recordings on Friday 11th October. Orchestrated by Charles Harrison, and co-produced by Ben Turner, Rob Ellis and Simon Chesterfield, the album features the results of a year long project re-imagining six of Simon’s songs as an orchestral performance. It will be available on all the usual digital platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal etc), and a limited run of 300 ten inch vinyl albums will be available via Legere Recordings and Bandcamp. Pre-order links coming soon!

Noch ein Nachtrag: „Something“ ist ein Titel, der von Simon für seine kurzlebige und wenig erfolgreiche Post-Chesterfields -Band „Basinger“ geschrieben wurde. Die flogen Anfang der 1990er völlig unter dem Radar und veröffentlichten zwei 7″ und eine 12″.

Co-founder and ever-present member of The Chesterfields, Simon Chesterfield’s first solo album “Simon Chesterfield” features the results of a year long project re-imagining six of his own compositons as an orchestral performance. Co-produced by Ben Scott Turner, Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) and Simon Chesterfield, the album was orchestrated by Charles Harrison. An imaginative video of lead track “Something” available on Youtube will accompany this release.

An ensemble of Wessex musicians were gathered together for this project, several of whom have now signed up for some Simon Chesterfield live adventures, including a launch party for the album on Friday 11th October at the wonderful Lyric Theatre in Bridport, Dorset. The players are: Joe Atkinson, Matt Barge, Jenny Bliss, Simon Chesterfield, Rob Ellis, Charles Harrison, Emma Kingston, Seiko Nemoto, Nick Squires, Helen Stickland, James Thornton, and Ben Scott Turner.
