Ich bin kein Freund von ewig gleichen Bluesschemen, aber Nina Simone bringt genügend Bitterkeit und Wut mit, dass sie zusammen mit ihrer enormen Präsenz für mich funktionieren. Auch die ruhigen Stücke überzeugen. Diese Zeit, in der die Songs kaum über 3 Minuten gingen, war schon besonders.
