Zumindest besitzt das Album bei mir einen starken Hang zu * * * * 1/2. Meine liebsten Solo Saxophon-LPs der letzten zwei Jahrzehnte bleiben allerdings weiterhin „Windows“ von Mats Gustafsson und Steve Lacys „5 x Monk 5 x Lacy“.

Zumindest besitzt das Album bei mir einen starken Hang zu * * * * 1/2. Meine liebsten Solo Saxophon-LPs der letzten zwei Jahrzehnte bleiben allerdings weiterhin „Windows“ von Mats Gustafsson und Steve Lacys „5 x Monk 5 x Lacy“.

Zu Solo-Alben müssen wir mal einen Thread machen, hat atom anderswo schon mal angeregt! Gustafsson hab ich seit einer Ewigkeit nicht mehr gehört, die Lacy kenn ich nicht. Mein schönstes Lacy-Solo war das Konzert in Zürich, das vor einer Weile auf Intakt aufgelegt worden ist – hab’s mir aber noch nicht gekauft, auch aus Angst, die Konserve könnte der Erinnerung nicht gerecht werden. Eins der schönsten Konzerte für mich!
Roscoe Mitchell hab ich ebenfalls Solo gesehen (und sogar zum Hausgebrauch mitgeschnitten), das war enorm stark, hatte aber am Ende nie diesen Zauber, den Lacy erreichte.
