Und schon sind die Piraten da und bieten Coltrane 1962 in Graz „remastered, original ORF radio broadcast“, an … wer immer Interesse hat daran (und das sollten ganz viele sein, denn es lohnt natürlich!) hole sich bitte die ezz-thetic-CDs, die tatsächlich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ORF entstanden sind (und nicht das hier)! Der Gratis-Service hier hat ja oben längst drüber berichtet (Teil 1 erschien noch 2019, Teil 2 ist inzwischen auch da):

Gemäss Burning Ambulance auf Twitter kommt das im November als 4-CD-Box bei Sunnyside heraus – grossartige News!

Das Konzert von 1964 mit Johnny Coles, Eric Dolphy, Clifford Jordan, Jaki Byard und Dannie Richmond ist natürlich bekannt (zirkuliert schon eine Ewigkeit als Bootleg). 1975 waren Jack Walrath, George Adams, Don Pullen und Richmond dabei.

I’m honored and thrilled to announce „Rollins in Holland: The 1967 Studio & Live Recordings,“ Resonance Records‘ first archival release from the Saxophone Colossus himself, SONNY ROLLINS. Released in partnership with the Nederlands Jazz Archief, this limited-edition 180g 3LP set (mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, pressed at RTI) and deluxe 2CD set (out Dec 4) is officially sanctioned by Rollins and is comprised of 3 different previously-unissued performances with bassist Ruud Jacobs and drummer Han Bennink in May of 1967 at VARA Studio 5 in Hilversum, the Arnhem Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem, and audio from a televised performance at the Go-Go Club in Loosdrecht.
„Rollins in Holland“ will include an extensive, over-the-top 100-page CD booklet and 24-page LP insert with a treasure trove of never-before-published photos from the actual performances, and essays by yours truly, Aidan Levy (currently writing a biography of Sonny Rollins for Da Capo Press) and my co-producer, the Dutch jazz journalist/producer Frank Jochemsen. Hatte das vor (über?) einem Jahr in deren Jazz Bulletin gelesen und im Forum kundgetan. Fragte mich so langsam, ob es dazu noch kommen wird, Pandemie etc. Umso schöner deine Ankündigung zu lesen.

Side A und Side B sind neu, bin mir auch ziemlich sicher, dass keins der Sütcke das „unknown“ von oben sein wird … das hätten wir damals beim Aufbereiten der zirkulierenden Version identifiziert.

waer interessant zu sehen, ob die CDs noch ein bisschen mehr drauf haben… ich komm auf gut 40 Minuten von den zwei anderen Sessions plus 89 Minuten aus Arnhem… macht etwa 65 Minuten pro CD… was eigentlich bedeutet, dass da noch ein bisschen Luft sein sollte…
