Die ganze „Soft Bulletin“ ist natürlich großartig, aber What is the light hat mich damals umgehauen, das tiefen Hämmern im Hintergrund, unbeirrbar wie ein Herzschlag, diese melancholische Melodie und dann bricht alles aus, genauso feucht und heiß wie ein erster Kuss. Race For The Prize ist natürlich auch toll, auch wenn er mich erst erschreckt und dann erfreut.Zu den anderen Songs, ich bin ja eher ein heimlicher Souler, aber die haben mich vor vielen Jahren schon geprägt und sind ja auch zweifellos alle magic, der sehnsüchtige Gesang von Tammi und Marvin, das Soundgewitter von Spector, Smokeys Gesang und dieser Text und wer ist sexier than Al Green? Am meisten in meiner Gunst ist allerdings Jackie Wilson gestiegen – was ein Sänger, so voller Kraft und Gefühl, da kann mir selbst James Brown gestohlen bleiben…
Und die Ramones sind ja so sehr pop wie Pop nur sein kann.--

Ich finde z.b. auch „Main Street“ von Bob Seger herzzerreißend schön, aber nur wenn ich in der gewissen Südstaaten-Roadtrip-Stimmung bin, in der ich den Song damals zum ersten mal gehört habe, nicht in sachlich nüchterner Stimmung beim Top100-Schreiben. Da erscheint er mir dann doch etwas zu nölig und tränendrüsig im Vergleich zu anderen Songs. In besagter Stimmung würde mir dagegen sowas wie DM oder Talking Heads gar nicht in den Kram passen…
Naja fassen wir zusammen, dass solche Charts immer nur Momentaufnahmen sind.
Außerdem hätte ich wohl noch etwas länger rumtüfteln sollen. Bob dylan ist bspw. völlig unterrepräsentiert, was wohl mit daran lag, dass er weit vorn im Alphabet kommt und dann immer weiter nach hinten gerutscht ist ;)

Doch, doch, sind schon viele wunderbare Perlen dabei. Vieles auch überraschend, manches eher verwunderlich.;-)--
Jetzt schon 62 Jahre Rock 'n' RollWas mir zuallererst auffällt an Deiner Liste, pumafreddy, ist, dass Du es gerne in epischer Breite magst. Unter den Top 20 nur 3 Tracks unter 6 Minuten, wenn ich es denn richtig überblickt habe. Und dieser Trend setzt sich, wenn auch abgeschwächt, im weiteren Verlauf ja durchaus fort.
