Regulärer Erscheinungstag des Rolling Stone DE ist eigentlich immer der letzte Donnerstag eines Monats.
Den „neuen“ Rolling Stone gibt es demnach noch gar nicht.--

elo4evermattHat schon jemand den neuen Rolling Stone? Sollte ja eigentlich eine Album Rezension enthalten sein, oder?
Erscheint immer am letzten Donnerstag im Monat, aber diesen Monat erscheint er schon am 24.10.2019. Ich dachte immer alle hier im Rolling Stone Forum wären auch Rolling Stone Magazin Leser. Anscheinend wohl nicht, denn in jeder Ausgabe steht auf Seite 4 immer der Erscheinungs Termin für die nächste Ausgabe. … so, jetzt konnte ich auch mal Klugscheißer spielen. 😆 🛸

Also, ich warte ja mindestens bis zum 1. November und wahrscheinlich sogar noch ein bisschen länger, bis ich mir in aller Ruhe und in der richtigen Atmosphäre das neue Album anhöre, aber ich sage mal, es ist alles schon mal da (gewesen?)
Mir macht es richtig Spaß, die ersten Eindrücke in den verschiedenen Foren zu lesen. Natürlich gibt es auch kritische Stimmen, aber unter den Fans scheint es doch die Mehrheit als gutes bis fantastisches Album zu empfinden.
Was meine Vorfreude noch mehr steigert …

Genau so ist es. Es ist da. Und ich kann sagen, dass FOON für mich eindeutig der schwächste Song auf dem Album zu sein scheint.

Wir das halt immer so vor Alben-VÖ ist. Schau dich mal in den englischsprachigen Foren um wie Horace Wimp Forum und Steve Hoffman Forum. Mich interessieren bloß die Kommentare …

<b>From Out of Nowhere: </b>The solid opening song. Not the best, but also not the worst. Typically how I end up feeling about lead singles.
<b>Help Yourself</b>: Ooooh this one is catchy! Verses reminded me of „Moment In Paradise,“ with a bit of Roy Orbison’s „You Got It“ in the chorus. Not derivatively similar, though. Good song.
<b>All My Love: </b>This one was the biggest surprise of the album. The moment it started I thought, „this is a Jeff Lynne song…?“ But wow did it quickly grow on me. I can definitely hear the „80s yacht rock“ vibe, like the softer side of Peter Gabriel. Jeff’s falsetto in the chorus is heavenly.
<b>Down Came The Rain: </b>I’m torn on this one…it’s a pleasant song, with a nice riff. But it sounds <i>so </i>much like Dirty To The Bone, but with better lyrics (which is a plus). It does get a bit repetitive towards the end. Not sure yet which is the superior song.
<b>Losing You: </b>Oh hello, <i>Long Wave</i>. Some might say this doesn’t belong on an ELO album…but those strings are irresistible
<b>One More Time: </b>Wow is Jeff good with upbeat songs…this one is a blast! Brace yourself for an unexpectedly „classic ELO“ moment in the middle of the song…
<b>Sci-Fi Woman: </b>It’s a shame the most intriguing song title on the album is given to the most forgettable song…not like it’s bad or anything. It’ll probably grow on me, too. But still, not as immediately memorable as some of the others,
<b>Goin‘ Out On Me: </b>At laaaaaaasssst…<i>Long Wave</i> hassss come aloooonnng
Again. But just like „Losing You,“ at least it’s a nice song. Some choral bits in the background, too!<b>Time Of Our Life: </b>Brimming with happiness over this one. You can <i>hear </i>Jeff’s excitement and passion for this song as he recounts what is clearly one of the best nights of his life. I usually roll my eyes when an artist references a past song of theirs within a newer song…but it’s well-deserved here. I really hope they do this one live!
<b>Songbird: </b>Unexpectedly bluesy! But not necessarily in a <i>Long Wave </i>sort of way. It reminded me more of Jeff Lynne’s take on Bob Dylan’s „Make You Feel My Love.“ Nice closer.
