Ja, Mikaela Straus ist ein queeres Hipster Girl aus dem Brooklyn-Bilderbuch, aber sie hat Soul in der Stimme und in den Songs und ihr zweites Album besitzt genügend Traditionsverwurzelung, dass sie auch konservativere Hörer für sich einnehmen können sollte. Erschienen auf Mark Ronsons „Zelig“-Label (auf seinem aktuellen Album ist sie auch zu hören).

Geowulf – Resignation
Das in London lebende australische Dreampop-Duo wurde vor 3 Jahren mit „Saltwater“ bekannt und weitere virale Hits folgten, die dann im vergangenen Jahr auf dem Debüt-Album „Great Big Blue“ zusammengefasst erschienen. Nun liegt bereits das zweite Album vor, deutlich gitarren-orientierter und für mein Empfinden mehr aus einem Guss als das Debüt, es scheint aber leider nicht an den Erfolg anzuknüpfen. Dabei lohnt allein schon das fantastische „He’s 31“ ein Reinhören.
PS: Lese gerade auf Twitter, dass ein Clip zu „He’s 31“ in den nächsten Tagen kommt …
