Es war übrigens anscheinend der Erfolg dieses Albums, das ja quasi der Schwanengesang der originalen Jazz Messengers ist, der Silver erst dazu bewog, Bandleader zu werden. Zum Glück!

Ach, er taucht halt selten auf, wenn es um die besten Hard Bop Trompeter geht, viele empfinden sein Spiel als langweilig oder gar – lang bevor die Intellektuellenschelte so trendy war wie heutzutage – als „akademisch“ … da kann ich nicht beipflichten.
