Noel Gallagher schreibt doch seit dem von ihm provozierten Band-Split nur noch Songs, die nach den Monkees klingen…

MarBeckNach mehreren Auflösungen und Neuformationen gibt es die damals gecastete TV-Serienband The Monkees noch immer, mit „Good Times!“ soll es in diesem Jahr sogar ein Jubiläumsalbum geben. Und zwei Briten waren scheinbar dabei behilflich: Noel Gallagher und Paul Weller sollen laut Medienberichten gemeinsam einen Song für die Platte geschrieben haben.

Noel hat es bestätigt:

NG“Yeah, they asked me to write a song and as luck would
have it, I happened to have half a song lying around that I’d been writing
with Paul Weller over the last couple of months and we sent it to them and
they like it and we’ve now gotta go and finish it off, but we didn’t expect
them to go and tell fucking the whole world that it was happening because
now we have to finish it off.“

„I hope the second half’s as good as the first half. But me and Paul are
very busy dudes. We’re all-conquering, ageing mods and, you know, it’s
fucking hard to find the time sometimes,“ Gallagher continued.

The record, reportedly titled Good Times!, is due for release on 10 June to
coincide with The Monkees‘ 50th anniversary. All three surviving members,
Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, are involved.

Wenn ich diese Kaiserchiefsfresse nur sehe, möchte ich reinhauen. Den Typen habe ich seit der Performance im Hyde Park im Sommer total gefressen. Das ist wirklich ein dämlicher Pfau. Dagegen find ich das tantige Gewackel von Boy George richtig drollig.
