rec. 1998Ich höre aus dem 5CD-Set „Andrew Manze – The Art of the Violin“, das ich neu habe … sonst noch nichts draus gehört, zwei CDs mit Corelli-Sonaten mit Egarr, eine mit Vivaldi, „Concert for the Prince of Poland“ mit der Academy of Ancient Music unter Manze und eine mit Mozarts Konzerten KV 216, 218 und 219 mit The English Concert unter Manze. Dazu ein Booklet mit Andrew Manzes Liner Notes in drei Sprachen, hübsche Sache!

Eleanor Steber mit Mozarts „Exsultate, jubilate“ (KV 165), Konzertarien und Arien aus „Il re pastore“, „Idomeneo“ (1960) und „Le nozze di Figaro“ (1946-52).
Begleitet wird sie von einem Orchester unter Robert Lawrence auf den Aufnahmen von 1960 und Orchestern unter Wilfrid Pelletier und Howard Barlow auf den früheren Aufnamen, die aus „Voice of Firestone“-Sendungen stammen.--

Marian Anderson – Rarities
Traditionals, Musik von Gluck, Haydn, Bellini, Dvorák, Verdi, Händel, Gounod etc. aus den Jahren 1943-52 („Concert Hall“ 1943, „Music from America“ 1944 und 1946 sowie ein unbekanntes Programm von 1952). Als Begleitung wird nur angegeben: „Orchestra conducted by Donald Voorhees“ (der von 1942-68 das Orchester der „Bell Telephone Hour“ geleitet hat), aber es gibt auch Spirituals nur mit Piano-Begleitung.
Wonach könnte ich denn von Anderson noch suchen? Die Schubert/Schumann-Aufnahme bei RCA? Die Dutton Vocalion CD klingt auch ziemlich vielversprechend.

Das gehört zwar nur bedingt in die Klassik-Ecke, aber was soll’s – eins der besten Alben von 2010. Kopatchinskaja spielt Enescus berühmte dritte Sonate (mit Mihaela Ursuleasa am Klavier), Ravels „Tzigane“ erklingt im Duo mit dem Cimbalom ihres Vaters Viktor Kopatchinsky, der auch im Duo mit seiner Frau Emilia, der Mutter Patricias, zu hören ist. Musik von Kurták (für Violine und Cimbalom), Ligetis (Kopatchinskaja im Duett mit sich selbst), Dinicu und diverse ein paar Folkore-Stücke sind zu hören. Neben den drei Kopatschinkys und Ursuleasa wirkt auch der Jazzbassist Martin Gjakonovski mit.

Höre mich parallel zur Lektüre von Tomi Mäkelä`s Buch „Jean Sibelius und seine Zeit“ durch Teile seines Klavierwerkes, welches zwar für sich genommen nicht besonders komplex (wohl aber mit einer einnehmenden „nordischen“ Stimmung versehen), allerdings im Kontext der Entstehung seiner Symphonien und Symphonischen Dichtungen grundlegend ist.

„Das Waldkonzert“ mit Khatia Buniatishvili neulich bei Arte hast du bestimmt gesehen, oder?
Ich habe mir in kürzester Zeit eine ganze Reihe der bei Naive erschienenen Vivaldi-Einspielungen geholt. Das hier ist momentan mein Highlight.

CD 1 zur Nacht, Lieder von Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann und Brahms sowie zum Ende ein paar Weihnachtslieder, eingespielt für Radio-Übertragungen von Oktober bis Dezember 1941 mit Paul Ulanowsky am Klavier.

Leider nein … ich kriege sowas nur selten mit, da ich nicht täglich ins TV-Programm schaue. Schade. Im Netz scheint’s da auch nichts zu geben, nur ein fünfminütiger Zusammenschnitt.
Eine tolle TV-Sendung, die ich mitgekriegt hatte, ist die hier, das Schumann-Konzert mit dem hr-Sinfonieorchester unter Paavo Järvi:
