@ fevers-and-mirrors: Eine Liste nach meinem Geschmack, jede Menge Sun & Golden Era.:) Die Tracks dürften alle nicht zum letzten Mal genannt sein, der Underdog ist nach meiner Einschätzung „One Broken Heart For Sale“ aus dem „It Happened At The World’s Fair“- Soundtrack von 1963, als Single nur ein mittlerer Erfolg. Aber ein Highlight der Hollywood-Jahre, keine Frage.
@ plattensammler: Ein schöner, bunter Strauß aus dem Elvis-Garten. Am überraschendsten finde ich „Crawfish“ aus dem „Kid Creole“-Soundtrack von 1957.

Den Kirsty MacColl-Kracher hab ich erst kürzlich entdeckt, meine jüngste Tochter ist ebenfalls sehr begeistert. (Meine erste selbst gekaufte CD war damals ein Elvis-Album, da bin ich mit meinem gesparten Taschengeld in den Libro reinmaschiert und hab die billigste CD mit dem coolsten Cover genommen und dachte „Ok cool, time to rock!“, nur um daheim festzustellen, dass ich „He touched me“ erwischt habe und das wars erstmal gewesen.
Freu mich schon auf die Umfrage hier!--

Wobei ich mich auch erinnern kann, wie die Nachricht im Radio kam, dass Elvis tot ist. Und an Kirstys Auftritt mit „There’s A Guy …“ in der „Disco 81“ (I’m 10,000 years old …).

Ja, „One Broken Heart For Sale“ wird man hier wahrscheinlich nicht oft lesen, damit stehe ich in meinem musikintetessierten Bekanntenkreis schon lange ziemlich alleine dar. Kurz, knackig, raffiniert, auf den Punkt, nahezu perfekt.

Zum Einschwingen liegt gerade „Elvis‘ Golden Records“ auf dem Plattenteller, danach kommt „50.000.000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong“. Mein Gefühl sagt mir, dass ich viel Pre-Army in der Liste haben werde, ein bisschen Endsechziger Stoff und eher wenig aus den Siebzigern, wiewohl Elvis bis zum Schluss ohne Frage ganz großartige Aufnahmen gemacht hat.
