Tut mir leid, dass dir (und wahrscheinlich auch anderen) die beiden Tracks nicht zusagen. Zwei melancholische, melodiöse Songs, die beide auf ihre Weise einzigartig sind.
Das Debüt von BÖC hatte ich mir damals geholt, nachdem ich die Band durch den Song „I’m On The Lamb But I Ain’t No Sheep“ auf dem CBS-Sampler „Welcome the Rock People“ kennen gelernt habe. Das Album lag wochenlang auf dem Plattenspieler, nicht nur wegen der überragenden A-Seite, sondern auch wegen „She’s As Beautiful As A Foot„. Der Song klingt ein bisschen schräg, passend zum Titel. Auch wenn mich der Text nicht unbedingt überzeugt, lege ich den Song immer noch gerne auf.
„Lonely Teardrops“ von „Mirrors“ ist poppiger, hat aber einen schönen Groove und ebenfalls ein melodisches Gitarrensolo. Stark auch das Arrangement des Chors zum Ende hin …
