Ich finde das Heavy-Soul-Reissue auch gelungen, was die Aufmachung und den Klang angeht, gibts nichts zu Meckern. Die Platte selbst hat Höhen und Tiefen. Da hat sich meine Einschätzung über die Jahre kaum verändert (das ist bei anderen Weller-Alben anders). Friday Street, Driving Nowhere, Peackock Suit, Mermaids – alle toll.
Es ist das einzige der Re-Issues, das ich mir gekauft habe. Die ersten drei habe ich im Original. Zweimal das gleiche auf Vinyl brauche ich dann doch nicht.

Britpopwahn nicht wirklich empfänglich war.--
"And everything I know is what I need to know and everything I do's been done before."„Heavy Soul“ ist leider nicht auf Augenhöhe mit „Stanley Road“, aber trotzdem ein starkes Album. Habe es eben auch noch mal gehört und es altert sehr gut. Weller gesanglich noch auf dem Höhepunkt, famose Rhythmusgruppe, wirklich sehr gut und nach wie vor ****.

Was meinst Du mit dem Post? Dass die Platten sehr teuer gehandelt werden? Ich hoffe, dass auch weiteren Solo-LPs ein Reissue erfahren. denn Heliocentric und Studio 150 fehlen mir immer noch auf LP und Days of Speed hätte ich auch gern.

Ich hoffe für Dich, dass die anderen Platten dann auch noch wiederveröffentlicht werden.

Könnt ihr mal einen Blick in den Thread zum besten dritten Album werfen? Das kacken The Jam und insbesondere Paul Weller derzeit schwer ab (Stanley Road haben nur midnight mover und ich genannt). Wer noch nicht mitgemacht hat, gebe sich einen Ruck.
