Oh, danke! Du kannst Dir sicher vorstellen, daß das einer der besten Abende meines Lebens war…
Ein Studio, 3 mal 3 Meter, und drin nur er, ich, ein Stapel Vinyl und eine Gitarre. Er hat das Ding selbst. Ich habe es ihm bei einem späteren Interview gegeben. Später habe ich dann nochmal dafür gesorgt, daß sein Akustik-Konzert in Bremen 2001 von RB mitgeschnitten wurde. Die CD habe ich ihm dann geschickt und bekam eine Urlaubs-Postkarte von ihm zurück, in der er sich bedankt und den Sound gelobt hat.
Zu dem Unplugged-Bootleg: Ich fänd den ja sehr geeignet, um ihn als Fanclub-interne CD rauszubringen. Er enthält nebenbei die einzige mir bekannte Aufnahme von Pauls Coverversion von Neil Youngs „Birds“.

Das glaube ich allerdings gerne. Würde mich auch nicht wundern, wenn es doch noch mal irgendwann, irgendwie offiziell rauskommt. Birds finde ich auch richtig klasse!

hi,i had a blast last monday, as i met paul weller before the show, we talked a bit before he did his soundcheck, and he even let me play my (acoustic) version of ‚the changing man‘, on paul’s black gibson acoustic guitar wich he got for me as he was interested to hear it, i still can’t believe what a gentleman he is, letting me play a song to him by a fan and answering all the questions (i and two others) had.
* regarding the jam at knebworth, as stated on pw.com,
bullocks!!!* he hated to play wembley arena last year, awfull hall and
awfull sound, he prefers shepards bush empire and royal
albert hall ofcourse.* he has recorded 4 songs in amsterdam for the covers +
album, and will return to amsterdam to record more in
january after the uk december tour! it will be
completely different from the various covers he recorded
in the past as outtakes, tributes and b-sides. this will
be an album with a solid sound, where he will put his own
style into the songs and make it into a concept album
wich together sounds like an album, instead of just
seperate covers as the third disc on the ‚fly on the
wall‘ boxset! one of the covers is a ‚twisted sister‘
song!* he really hates it that bruce is doing the ’storyteller‘
kind a thing with the jam songs, as he said; making money
out of my songs, i should be the one to do such a thing,
if it would be somehting i’d like to do but not him.the gig was allright, he did some nice work on the illumination songs (i believe he played three or four of them), he’s the keeper had an extra edge, better than with a band, back 2 years ago. and it was nice to hear the jam songs, headstart and especially english rose, one of my favourite jam song. but moreover, gem archer kind of distracted from the songs, trying to put his playing style into the songs, which mostly didn’t really fit into paul’s songs, only on one or two, but moreover he didn’t ad much, and no chemistry between paul and gem at all.
ps; liam gallagher was sitting at the side of the stage, talking with john weller and gem, when paul was alone on stage, but he didn’t guest, i guess he was just in for a party with gem and paul later at the bulldog, or somewhere else. funny though cause this was the first ‚public‘ appearence of liam in the netherlands since the last oasis gig in 1997!!!
