Man fühlt sich bei diesen völlig unnötigen pubertären Späßen, die eben alles andere als lustig sind, tatsächlich wie in der Schule. Also bitte an die eigene Nase packen.

Ich habe zwei Tage Buße gelebt, aber das „s“ sollte ein „b“ sein (freudsche Fehlleistung?); so war es beabsichtigt! Aber bei distanziertem Hinsehen: immer noch zumindest Fauxpas. Jemanden beleidigen? Auf keinen Fall. Wenn es notwendig ist, entschuldige ich mich beim Betroffenen persönlich. Angríffe solcherart gehören nicht zu meinem Charakter. Peace!

So ich habe mir jetzt mal die Details der Box angesehen und bin einigermaßen sprachlos. Drei Versionen wird es geben, einmal die 9Blue-Ray-Version für 300$, dann eine 9DVD-Version für 200$ und schließlich eine 8CD-Version für 100$. Im Detail sieht das so aus (nur Blue Ray/DVD):

Wichtig erscheint mir Folgendes:

1. DVD/Blue-Ray Disc Nr. 9 enthält den Film „Journey Through The Past“, der bislang unveröffentlicht war. Keine Ahnung, ob der sich lohnt.

2. „Live At Canterbury House“ ist nicht in dem Box Set enthalten.

3. „Massey Hall“ und „Fillmore“ hingegen schon.

4. Anders als von mir bislang vermutet, enthält das Set eine riesige Masse von bereits veröffentlichten Aufnahmen, die sicherlich die allermeisten Neil Young-Fans bereits besitzen. Viele bislang unveröffentlichte Tracks sind nur in anderen Mixes, als Liveaufnahmen oder in anderen Versionen als den bislang bekannten enthalten. Das macht sie sicherlich nicht vollkommen uninteressant, aber die Frage, ob sich der Aufwand für eine vergleichsweise geringe Menge wirklich neuer Aufnahmen lohnt, muss gestellt werden.

5. Zum Glück werden alle einzelnen CDs/DVDs und Blue-Ray-Discs auch einzeln veröffentlicht. Die CDs kosten 16$, die DVDs 19$ und die Blu-Rays 28$. Das sind hervorragende Nachrichten, denn jeder kann sich sein Archives Set selbst zusammenbasteln, denn auch das Buch ist einzeln erhältlich.

6. Das bringt mich zum folgendem Entschluss: Ich werde mir auf gar keinen Fall das gesamte Set kaufen, sondern höchstens einzelne Scheiben. Ich werde insbesondere abwarten, wie denn die Reaktionen auf „Journey Through The Past“ und die Liveaufnahmen „Live At The Riverboat“ ausfallen. Vielleicht entpuppen sich ja auch andere Einzelscheiben als grandios und essentiell, aber bislang kann ich das nicht erkennen.

Ich werde mich wohl auch, wenn denn möglich, auf den einzelkauf von ein paar cds beschränken. Die überschneidungen sind mehr doch zu groß, als dass sich die ganze box für mich lohnen würde. Außer, die ganze box überzeugt durch fantastische klangqualität- ich bin auf berichte gespannt!
Und ‚journey through the past‘ soll ja sehr schlecht sein, lohnt vermutlich nicht.

Ja, sehe ich auch so – leider. Ein Freund, der der Sache beruflich näher steht als ich, hat was von einem einzigen Video erzählt. Muß man halt ins Konzert gehen im Juni.

@werner, was haben die 2009er Konzerte jetzt genau mit der ersten Archivbox zu tun?

On topic: Vor 5-10 Jahren hätte ich noch jeden Preis für die heißersehnten Boxen gezahlt. Und nun? Gleich drei Pakete zur Auswahl und da sind noch nicht einmal die Vinyls berücksichtigt. Soll ich ehrlich sein? Bei mir regiert einfach nur Ratlosigkeit die zu (mich selbst erschreckender) Desinteresse tendiert. Was will ich heute mit zwei Medien (CD/DVD) die keine Zukunft mehr haben oder einem Medium zu dem mir das Equipment auch zukünftig fehlen werden wird!?

Das einzige was mich adhoc an den Boxen reizt, ist weniger die Musik sondern vielmehr die schöne Optik/Aufmachung – das Sammlerherz schlägt gierig höher, der Verstand sagt NEIN.

Ich werde wohl auf die Vinylreleases warten und dort dann viel Geld versenken…

Schade, dass das Archive erst jetzt kommt – nicht alles wird gut abgehangen begehrenswerter!!!

Was soll das denn jetzt? Eine Konzertempfehlung für Neil Young braucht doch keine Referenz auf altes Archivmaterial. Im Klartext: Wenn du schon nicht genügend DVD-Material aus den good old times geliefert kriegst, dann geh halt in Konzerte des „neuen“ Young. War das jetzt so schwierig?

weiss nicht….seit SILVER + GOLD nicht mehr viel neues und vor allem
