RORY GALLAGHER – „Blues“ (1CD / 2 LP / 3CD)
Irish guitar ace Rory Gallagher is remembered next month with a new collection entitled Blues.
Celebrating what would have been 50 years since he begun his solo career, Blues collects together rare and unreleased recordings of Rory playing his favourite blues material from his vaults.
This is the first collection to be put together by the estate since Universal reissued his solo catalogue in a massive campaign last year. Ranging from never heard before tracks to special guest sessions, alongside lost radio sessions, this album uncovers Rory’s love of the blues throughout his solo career from 1971 right through to 1994.
Formats include a 16 track edition pressed on single CD / 2LP version and a deluxe 36-track three-CD set. The deluxe is comprised of 90 percent unreleased material and features performances with the likes of Muddy Waters, Albert King, Jack Bruce, Lonnie Donegan and Chris Barber. It also comes with an extensive booklet comprising previously unseen pictures plus an essay by award winning writer Jas Obrecht.

Paul McCartney will re-release his 2018 album Egypt Station on vinyl and CD next month as an ‘Explorer’s Edition’ that offers all the extra audio contained within the expensive ‘Traveller’s Edition‘ without all the gubbins.
This edition will be available as a two-CD set or 3LP vinyl package and offers seven previously unavailable tracks including unheard studio cuts ‘Frank Sinatra’s Party’ and ‘Sixty Second Street’ as well as a gathering of live performances, a longer version of album track ‘Who Cares’ and the song ‘Get Enough’ which McCartney made available on streaming platforms on New Year’s Day but hasn’t been issued physically. The ten bonus tracks feature on both the double CD and the 3LP black vinyl edition.

Recorded on February 5, 1973 at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa comes from Young’s tour with his backing band the Stray Gators (Neil Young: vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica Ben Keith: pedal steel guitar, vocals Jack Nitzsche: piano, vocals Tim Drummond: bass Kenny Buttrey: drums), which was documented on his Time Fades Away LP.
