STEVIE NICKS – „Stand Back 1981-2017“ (CD, 3CD, 6LP) [19.April 2019]
Next month, Stevie Nicks will make music history as the first female artist to receive her second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, following her 1998 induction with Fleetwood Mac. Nicks has hardly been resting on her laurels; after wrapping a recent, acclaimed solo tour, she’s embarked on a 50th anniversary tour with the newly-reconstituted Mac. Now, Rhino is celebrating her accomplishments with a new, career-spanning collection. Stand Back 1981-2017 will arrive in a variety of formats beginning on March 29 with a 1-CD release (also available on digital download and streaming). Then, on April 19, a 3-CD iteration will arrive in stores, followed by a 6-LP vinyl version on June 28.
Stand Back draws on all eight of Nicks’ solo studio albums from 1981’s Bella Donna (which included such hits as “Edge of Seventeen,” “After the Glitter Fades,” the Don Henley duet “Leather and Lace,” and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) through 2014’s 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault (with its all-new recordings of songs Nicks had penned over the decades but never recorded properly). Rarities and one-offs are also an integral part of the package.
The first disc of the 3-CD edition concentrates on her major solo hits including the aforementioned “Edge of Seventeen” and “After the Glitter Fades” plus “Stand Back,” “If Anyone Falls,” “Rooms on Fire,” “Talk to Me,” “I Can’t Wait,” and many more. The second disc spotlights her collaborations with other artists including Henley, Petty (not just “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” but also “I Will Run to You”), Walter Egan (his 1978 top ten hit “Magnet and Steel”), Kenny Loggins (“Whenever I Call You Friend”), John Stewart (“Gold”), Lady Antebellum (“Golden,” “Blue Water”), and many others. The third CD explores Nicks in concert, with selections from the Bella Donna tour and 2009’s The Soundstage Sessions. (Her Fleetwood Mac classics “Dreams,” “Sara,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “Rhiannon” and “Landslide” are heard in solo versions.) It’s rounded out with a helping of soundtrack performances from such films as Heavy Metal, Practical Magic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Book of Henry. The single disc highlights edition (18 songs) appears to differentiate itself from the 3-CD set with the inclusion of certain songs in their single versions. The 6-LP version mirrors the contents of the 3-CD set.
Look for the 1-CD version of Stand Back 1981-2017 on March 29 from Rhino, with the 3-CD version following on April 19 and the 6-LP set on June 28. You’ll find currently active pre-order links below as well as the full track listing. We’ll update with all links once they’re active.

RENAISSANCE – „A Song For All Seasons„ (3CD Remastered & Expanded Clamshell Box Edition) [29.März 2019]
A NEWLY RE-MASTERED 3 CD EXPANDED CLAMSHELL BOXED SET EDITION OF THIS CLASSIC RENAISSANCE ALBUM
FEATURING 15 BONUS TRACKS INCLUDING THE ENTIRE CONCERT RECORDED AT THE TOWER THEATER, PHILADELPHIA IN DECEMBER 1978 RELEASED IN FULL FOR THE FIRST TIME
WITH ILLUSTRATED BOOKLET WITH A NEW ESSAY AND A REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL ALBUM POSTER
Esoteric Recordings is pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded 3CD clamshell box edition of the classic album, “A Song for All Seasons” by RENAISSANCE. Released in March 1978, the album featured the song “Northern Lights”, a Top Ten hit single in the UK and Europe, and was a successful hit album in the UK, USA and Canada. By the late 1970s the line-up of highly gifted vocalist Annie Haslam, Michael Dunford (acoustic and electric guitars), John Tout (keyboards, vocals), Jon Camp (bass, acoustic & electric guitars, vocals) and Terry Sullivan (drums, percussion) had recorded a series of acclaimed albums that fused classical music influences with progressive rock and had earned a loyal following in Europe and had enjoyed wider success in the United States and Japan.
Working with producer David Hentschel (who had also produced the albums “A Trick of the Tail” and “Wind and Wuthering” for Genesis), the material on “A Song for All Seasons” was some of the most carefully crafted work of the band’s career. Flying in the face of the prevailing musical fashions of the time, “A Song for All Seasons” would be the band’s most successful album in Europe and is one of their best-loved works.
This expanded edition has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and features 15 bonus tracks, including the previously unreleased promotional edit and a “Top of the Pops” recording of “Northern Lights”, along with a BBC Radio session from August 1978 and a further two CDs comprising the entire concert recorded at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia on 4th December 1978, appearing in full on CD for the first time, with an additional 55 minute’s worth of unreleased tracks.
The release also features an illustrated booklet with a reproduction of the band’s 1978 US tour program and new essay. The set also includes a reproduction of the original album poster given away with the initial pressing of “A Song for All
Seasons”.DISC ONE:

Persönliche Anmerkung:

RUPHUS – „030678„

FLEETWOOD MAC – „BEFORE THE BEGINING: 1968-1970“ (3CD)
Two live recordings featuring Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac have been found and are being released officially on CD and vinyl as Before The Beginning 1968-1970.
The recently discovered recordings date from 1968 and 1970 and were discovered unlabelled in the US, so not much is known about them other than they have been authenticated by experts and approved for release by Fleetwood Mac.
These live performances almost bookend Peter Green’s tenure with the band as the 1968 recording represents the band in their early stages while the 1970 recording will, in contrast, be one of their final shows before Peter left the band. The earlier set contains early incarnations of ‘Madison Blues’ and ‘I Need Your Love So Bad’ from the blues era and the likes of ‘Long Tall Sally’ and ‘Willie And The Hand Jive’. The 1970 performance includes ‘Oh Well’, ‘Green Manalishi’ and the UK number one ‘Albatros’.
Before The Beginning 1968-1970 is being issued as a three-CD set containing all the live recordings and four previously unreleased demos. The images suggest that this comes packaged in what looks like a seven-inch book format.
In terms of vinyl, this content is being split into two volumes. ‘Volume One’ is a 3LP set that features the 1968 live recording and will be issued in June with the triple CD package. A second volume with the 1970 live recording (and the demos) will be released at a later date.
Before The Beginning 1968-1970: Rare Live and Demo Sessions will be released on 7 June 2019, via Sony CMG.
