Mouse On Mars – Autoditacker (1997)
Jetzt schon 17 Jahre alt aber immer noch toll. Wie komplex und bunt elektronische Musik damals schon war! Sui Shop ist eins der flotteren und lustigeren Stücke von Autoditacker. Wenn MOM langsamer und verträumter werden, z.B. mit Sehnsud, finde ich sie eigentlich noch besser.

Eine Kompilation mit 36 jeweils ein-minütigen Stücken, darunter eins von Robert Lippok, der ein Drittel der oben erwähnten To Rococo Rot ausmacht.

Sicher eher nicht urban, schon mal gar kein Hip Hop aber überwiegend elektro.

(1995)Meines Wissens das Album, dass Autoditacker vorausging. Meist nicht so hyperaktiv wie Autoditacker, aber nicht weniger faszinierend. Eben stimmungsvoller und geheimnisvoller aber mit dem typischen MOM-Humor. Fast 20 Jahre alt und klingt für mich absolut frisch. Könnte man das auch 2014 veröffentlichen, ohne dass es alt klingen würde? Ich glaube es fast …

Squarepusher – Hello Everything
(2006)Eins der hörbareren Alben von Squarepusher alias Tom Jenkinson, der sich in meinen Ohren auf seinen späteren Aufnahmen manchmal in Gefrickel, Demonstration von Virtuosität und Hochgeschwindigkeitsprogrammieren verliert. All das gibt es hier zwar auch, aber in erträglichen Dosen, so dass man davon nicht erschlagen wird. Vieles ist sogar richtig hübsch! Drum & Bass goes Electric Jazz goes Space oder so …

To Rococo Rot – abc 123 (2007)
Ich höre den back catalogue von TRR weiter durch. abc 123 ist eine EP oder Mini-LP mit 20 min Laufzeit, die ursprünglich nur auf Vinyl veröffentlicht wurde. Der Titel bezieht sich meines Wissens auf die Schrifttype Helvetica, genauer auf deren 50sten Geburtstag. Wo da der Zusammenhang zur Musik ist, erschließt sich mir aber nicht.
Auf abc 123 gibt es 8 kleine elektronische musikalische Skizzen zu hören, mal mehr, mal weniger strukturiert. Manchmal eigentlich nur umherschwirrende Sounds. Musik wie ein paar zufällig im Raum verteilte Gegenstände, von denn man nicht sagen kann, wie sie dahin gekommen sind und was sie überhaupt darstellen. Man weiß nicht so recht, ob man weg- oder hinhören soll, aber wenn die Musik vorbei ist, möchte man auf repeat drücken. Einiges davon könnte ich mir gut als Filmmusik vorstellen.
