out of the blueNachdem ich eigentlich gedacht hatte, dass sich meine liebste Brit-Pop-Band längst verabschiedet hätte, gibt es doch noch „News from Richard“
Hello everyone,
After a much needed and extended leave of absence, we finally feel like we have enough big tunes to get back in the studio…
Feels like I’ve personally been ramping up to this point for about three years!
We’ve gone from barely seeing or speaking to each other, dodging rumours about a band split, to living out of each others pockets and I just know somewhere in my bones that they’ve got my back both musically and spiritually…
Being at the writing phase is always a minefield of lightbulb moments but lately, and for the first time, I know what makes us special… It’s the dark melancholy that lurks between the notes… The feeling of being slain by the unexp ected turn of a melody… The total abandon of singing the world’s biggest chorus and occasionally having the cheek to try it on with a kazoo… I love Embrace! I love everything that we stand for and I love that we have fans and friends and an amazing team who are right there with us… Things are already sounding inspired… Like we’ve got the future on a leash!
So with our quality control set literally to ‚STUN’… we set off again down the rabbit hole

fb Eintrag vom 30.8.12:
Danny McNamara
Yes i’m still up. I can’t sleep , the last few weeks working on an album are the hardest. It’s when everything starts coming into focus and all thats left are the difficult decisions and trickiest puzzles. In a sense it’s like mountain climbing, in that the last 5% always takes the most effort . It’s also when you finally get to hear things how they will sound at last. I can’t do anything else but think of it …i’m getting about 3 or 4 hours sleep a day. I’m really proud of some of our old songs but this is new. It’s more real somehow. Like a veils been lifted. I can’t explain it in a short update but i’m really really fucking excited. Which is prob another reason why i’m not sleeping. No-one in the world has heard anything from us in over 6 years, and in just a few weeks thats all going to change. If you’re a fan of the band, i hope you feel like we’ve done you proud, and that it’s been worth the wait. If you know someone who’s a fan tell them we’re on our way back and boy have we got a story to tell … dm--

EmbraceIt’s been 7 years 5 months and 20 days … Expect an announcement next week. Share this to be added to the secret list. We are watching you !!!

out of the blueBin schon gespannt.

Embrace Leave Fans In The Dark
Embrace have played their first gig in over 7 years.
On Sunday 10th November, the band played in the pitch-black basement of a disused Mill in Bradford to mark their long awaited live return.
60 hand-picked fans from all over the country, chosen from thousands of applicants, were led by torchlight through the myriad dark tunnels in the basement of the Drummond’s Mill.
Still in total darkness, aside from the occasional stab of strobe lighting, Embrace launched in to a set that included no fewer than six brand new songs from their long awaited sixth studio album, set for release next year.
Talking about the gig Danny McNamara said: „It’s great to be back, the atmosphere tonight was magical! You’re never sure how people are going to respond to your new stuff, especially when there’s such a shift in the sound, but we’ve been uncompromising and that’s when we work best, our audience knows it and the response has been incredible!“
„We started doing these secret gigs because we wanted to do something unique that no-one else was doing. But if you thought this was ambitious, this was just the landing the next one is the big one … Invasion.“
The show was captured using night vision cameras and the band have released a short clip of the proceedings.

Cooking Vinyl signs Embrace
– Platinum selling band to release new album in Spring 2014
– Deal is for worldwide artist services
London, 12th December, 2013: Cooking Vinyl has won the hotly contested race to sign Embrace to an artist services deal for the world.
The band will release a new studio album in Spring 2014, their first for eight years, on Cooking Vinyl. It is being recorded at the band’s own studio in Halifax, with Embrace co-founder and guitarist Richard McNamara on production duties.
Embrace have enjoyed plenty of success over the course of their career, releasing two Platinum albums (1998’s The Good Will Out, 2004’s Out of Nothing), three Gold albums (2000’s Drawn from Memory, 2002’s Fireworks (singles compilation) and 2006’s This New Day) and achieving six UK Top 10 singles. Combined sales of their last two albums total over one million copies.
The band will support the new album with a full touring schedule, primarily covering theUK.
Embrace’s co-founder and lead singer Danny McNamara said: “We had a few labels that loved the album, some who’d wanted to work with the band for a long time. But as soon as we met the Cooking Vinyl team, we knew we’d found the right home. We’re really looking forward to working with them.”
Rob Collins, Director at Cooking Vinyl added: “We’re so, so pleased to land Embrace, especially given the stiff competition. This is a band that has delivered great songs time and time again, and is putting the polishing touches on another special album. We struck up a great relationship with Danny and had a shared vision for the record.”

New Album ‚EMBRACE‘, Refugees EP with Instant Download & February Scottish Tour
FIRST ALBUM RELEASE IN EIGHT YEARS – ‚EMBRACE‘ RELEASED ON 28TH APRIL
Embrace return in 2014, releasing their first album in eight years with their self-titled new album ‘Embrace’ released on 28th April through Cooking Vinyl.
With three #1 albums, six top ten singles, sold out arena shows and well over a million album sales behind them, Embrace were on the crest of a wave when they suddenly vanished without a trace. But now they are back with a fantastic new album conveying a rawer, darker sound whilst still keeping their signature anthems and huge choruses. Embrace are set to return with a bang. A big bang.
Danny: „The album feels like we’ve come full circle to the band we were before we even got signed, but the clock is ticking louder than it ever has before and everything feels more do or die now. All our original influences have floated back to the surface. I have to say that for my part, we’ve never felt more focussed or distilled. I think we’ve done it at last – we’ve finally made an album that’s better than the first one.“
The album is available to pre-order now from the band’s official store on four different physical formats, with the Super Deluxe Box Set including seven different pieces of exclusive merchandise that won’t be available anywhere else:
– Standard CD (signed)
– Deluxe Edition CD / DVD (signed)
– Gatefold White Double Vinyl LP (signed)
– Exclusive Super Deluxe Embrace Album Box SetREFUGEES EP RELEASED ON 17TH FEBRUARY
The first release from the band’s new album will be the single ‘Refugees’ which will be released as part of a 4-track EP on 17th February, giving fans a taster of what lies ahead with three brand new songs not featured on the new album. The tracklisting for the EP is as follows:1. Refugees
2. Chameleon
3. Decades
4. BulletsDanny: „Richard brought this in as a near finished recording. It was one of the first songs we finished and it really set the bar for the rest of the album. ‚The snow on the screen / We’re going light speed tonight / Like Bonnie and Clyde except we don’t die tonight.‘ It’s an image from those sci-fi movies where the stars whizz by like snow on the screen. To say we have argued over this song would be an understatement. I guess you know you’ve got a good one when that happens because everyone gets really precious about it. But it was really important to us that all the other tracks are strong too. We wanted to go back to how we were at the beginning when we released EPs and every track was as good as the lead track. It feels just like those days, we’re all fired up and hungry for it because we’ve got it all to prove again.“
„Refugees“ kann man bei Pre-order der EP sofort downloaden
das Video dazu gibt’s schonmal hier
ob es so eine gute Idee war, Richard fast den ganzen Song singen zu lassen, weiss ich ja auch nicht, Danny kommt dann erst in der letzten Minute rein .. mal schauen ..
