The Only Game in Town (George Stevens, USA 1970)
Bestimmt kein Meisterwerk wie „A Place in the Sun“, aber ein äusserst vergnüglicher Film. Taylor und Beatty sind beide nicht nur gute Schauspieler sondern haben ein enormes Talent zum Komödiantischen, die Dialoge sind schnell und geistreich, der Plot zwar absehbar, aber der ganze Film ist sehr cool gemacht und Beatty/Taylor machen jede Schwäche locker wett! Sehr toll!
Leider war die Kopie ziemlich rotstichig… grün gab’s zwar noch ein wenig, aber blau war rar – zum Glück trägt Taylor ein gelbes Kleid, als sie Beatty zum ersten Mal begegnet

Man hatte uns als Kindern das Ende der Welt versprochen, und dann bekamen wir es nicht.Heute abend im Kino:
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (Michael Cimino, USA 1974)
und
The Last American Hero (Lamont Johnson, USA 1973)Ersterer sehr toll, eine etwas andere Art von heist-movie, Eastwood und Bridges geben ein tolles Gespann. Der grinsende Quentin hat hier bestimmt ziemlich genau hingeschaut. Kein grosser Film, aber ein Film voller grosser Bilder.
Zweiter… nun ja, wie erwartet, genau richtig, um einen langen öden (abgesehen von Ciminos Film) Tag zu beschliessen. Bestimmt nichts grossartiges hier, aber Spass macht der Streifen, erst recht in guter Qualität im Kino!--
