atomWie sieht es bei dir mit „Against the Grain“ ,“Heaven or Las Vegas“ ,“Jordan: The Comeback“ ,“Songs For Drella“ oder „The Good Son“ aus? Vielleicht Alben, die den Jahrgang für dich etwas erträglicher machen?

@atom: Da würde ich bei „The good son“ von Nick Cave definitiv zustimmen. Liegt bei mir aktuell auf Platz 12 in 1990. Bei Bad Religion und Prefab Sprout bevorzuge ich andere Alben. Zum einen „Suffer“, „“Generator“, „Recipe for hate“ und „Stranger than fiction“, zum anderen „Swoon“, „Steve McQueen“ und „From Langley Park to Memphis“. Von den Cocteau Twins habe ich nur ein oder zwei Tracks auf Samplern. Das sollte ich eventuell noch mal ändern. John Cale hingegen ist nichts für mich.

Alben, die mir den Jahrgang noch versüßen und knapp außerhalb der Top Ten liegen, sind z.B. „Goo“ von Sonic Youth, „Midnight stroll“ von Robert Cray, „Brothers keepers“ von den Neville Brothers, das einzige Album der Band „The La’s“ sowie „Casino“ von Blue Rodeo.

Insgesamt habe ich aktuell insgesamt 48 Alben aus diesem Jahrgang, den ich zum schwächsten Jahrgang seit 1965 ausgewählt habe. Und von denen möchte ich auch keines missen.

Ich pick‘ mal die fünf raus. Schön, dass Du das Scabs-Album gelistet hast. Habe die Belgier immer sehr gerne gehört. Aber auch das Album der Dubrovniks aus Australien ist bestens.

Möchte keinem auf die Füsse treten, meine Bewertungen fallen meist nicht so euphorisch aus, wie bei so manchem hier, der nach Rekorden jagt.  Mein Abschlussalbum der Dubrovniks hat über die Jahre schwer gelitten und endet mit einer *** Wertung. Insgesamt ein schwacher Jahrgang für mich, wobei ich die ersten 11 gelisteten Alben jederzeit gerne höre.
