dennis-blandfordMiracle Glass Company liefern in 2016 das vielleicht kohärenteste Debut im Commonwealth-Gitarrenbereich ab. Sollte man als Mittvierziger mit Vergangenheit auf jeden Fall gehört haben.
Ernsthaft? Das Album läuft hier gerade. Der erste Track ist ja ziemlich cool und auch „Little Country Thing“ kommt gut, aber viel zu oft sind das Gesangsmelodien, bei denen ich ständig damit rechne, dass gleich einer „Und jetzt alle!“ gröhlt. Miracle Glass Company haben in ihrer Musik mehrere Elemente von Slade oder Status Quo, mit denen ich nicht viel anfangen kann.

ab 37 * * * 1/2„Boys Forever“: Wieso überraschend? Ich mochte bereits Veronica Falls sehr (ihr „Starry Eyes“-Cover gehört zu meinen zehn liebsten Tracks der letzten Jahre). Da ich Oktober/November viel unterwegs war, kenne ich das Album erst seit gut anderthalb Monat, gut möglich, dass da nach oben noch einiges geht.
„In Movement“: Prima LP, teilweise herausragend (der Title-Track!), aber Ravi Coltranes Sopransax würde ich lieber ohne den ECM-Raumklang hören.

Ein normales Jahr mit einigen schönen Platten bereichern mein Regal. Für genaues zuhören fehlte mir oft die Zeit, deshalb hier nur ein ungefährer Stand, der sich nach Lust und Laune auch mal mehr nach oben bewegen darf.
