Brighton Dome show on December 16 is a surprise re-entry into the political
arena for the former Style Council activist.

Paul Weller steps back into the political arena this winter, assembling a
bespoke band featuring Robert Wyatt, Danny Thompson, Steve Pilgrim and Ben
Gordelier to play the first of several UK-wide Concerts For Corbyn at
Brighton Dome on December 16.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit arts-based initiatives associated
with Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s policy priorities, say organisers.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 14.
Other acts on the bill include Temples, Kathryn Williams, Stealing Sheep,
The Farm, Jim Jones And The Righteous Mind, Edgar Summertyme and Ghetto
Priest. All the artists are waiving their fees.
People Powered: Concerts For Corbyn promoters Rocksalt Events describe the
event as a “unique revue in celebration and solidarity of the progressive
policies laid out by Jeremy Corbyn and the growing grass roots movement
around them. This will be the first in a series of nationwide concerts in
this format, featuring a diverse array of high profile acts, contemporary
artists and up and coming performers.”
Robert Wyatt’s involvement is another coup for the event, as the former Soft
Machine drummer and left-wing pop grandee interrupts his effective
retirement from live performance.
More news regarding acts for the Brighton show and future Concerts For
Corbyn will be forthcoming.
Tickets for Brighton go on sale on Friday, October 14th priced at £25
(+£1.50 booking fee). Purchase from The Dome website http://www.brightondome.org or
the box office telephone 01273 709709.
