First off thank you so very much to Martin for asking about this. He’s really a fantastic guy and the biggest Jam/TSC/Weller fan that I know in Germany, as well as a long time fan. Secondly, I apologize for my inability to type or speak German. I’ve been struggling for decades just to perfect my French and be as good as I can at it (which is not very good at all!), so I’m sorry I’ll have to use English.
I’ve read some of the replies by using the „crappy“ Chrome translator, and there seems to be some speculation and questioning of my research. The old Paul Weller Live Archive is very old, and if you look at it there are many venues that were unknown. If you look at the current version of Mr. Cools Dream, there are also venues that are unknown, dates of concerts that are wrong and other things which can cause confusion. I assure you that my research has filled in many of those unknowns, corrected dates, uncovered previously unknown concerts and even some of the dates from the cancelled 1985 North American tour – which are still previously unpublished.
To „Start“, they *did* play for certain in Frankfurt in 1985. I know it is going back a few years, but I’ll give you a link to it in this message. As far as if they played in Stuttgart, that I do not know. Going by what I do know, and how they were touring up to about 10 days in a row before taking a day off while touring in 1985 and 1987, it only makes sense that they would have done another date somewhere during the 1985 tour of Germany.

I would think they would have played somewhere in October (Oktober ;) ) 12th or 14th. In a text file for a (digital) bootleg of the Circus Krone gig that I have there was a list of dates for the tour. Bootlegs are often incorrect as we all know, but sometimes they are correct. Despite this, I realize it may have not been Stuttgart that they played – but I wonder, geographically, what would have made sense to play on the 12th or 14th? Being that you all here are the Weller fans of Germany, you’d have a better idea of what would make sense in terms of driving around on a tour bus going from town to town.
