Meine Empfehlung für ferry wäre die Box „Sam Cooke’s SAR Records Story 1959-1965″ (leider kein Vinyl), u.a. mit dem jungen Johnnie Taylor und natürlich Bobby Womack. Interessant finde ich die Box vor allem wegen der Womack Brothers/The Valentinos. Einiges von SAR Records ist natürlich auf YouTube zu finden. Und auch dieser Clip (ab 1:10).
„Bobby Womack came out of that Gospel Tradition, a great singer and a sensational guitar player. ‚It’s All Over Now‘ and ‚Looking For Love‘ by the Valentinos are my favourite records in terms of sound.
