ich kenne michael gibbs nicht gut, aber von den beiden neuerscheinungen mit der ndr bigband (das andere ist eine liveaufnahme mit bill frisell vom überjazz festival) gefällt mir das hier sehr:
solist ist u.a. christoph lauer.
und dann erscheint die tage das neue album vom exploding star orchestra, in voller ausstattung (doppel-cd, dreifach vinyl).
mazurek hat das orchester neu zusammengewürfelt. nicole mitchell ist natürlich wieder dabei, diesmal auch angelica sanchez, aber die vibes fehlen:
