monotonIch konnte nichts zu einem neuen Black Motor Album finden. Könntest Du bitte mit Infos (und/oder Ordermöglichkeit) behilflich sein?
Hier ein paar Infos zur Black Motor. Leider CD-Only. (Ich bekomme von beiden Releases einige Exemplare, bei Interesse PN an mich.):
Kauriala SocietyBLACK MOTOR : HOOJAA -CD INFO
The composer Kusti Vuorinen wants his music to have a home-made feel. Art, for him, is synonymous with handicraft.
In 2005 Kusti published his legendary vinyl album Suurin Onni (Boing Being bong21), on which his folksy octet gave what then seemed definitive renditions of some of his best-known compositions.
They may have been definitive, but this is jazz, after all, and country jazz at that. On Hoojaa three of those old favourites (Voodoojenkka, Hotti and Kansan laulu) reappear as stomping grounds for the new improvisations by the trio Black Motor. In addition we can now hear four new ones by Kusti: Lumikki, Hoojaa, Nyrkkikyllikkivalssi and Yksin Kaukana.
It is safe to say that Hoojaa is, not only the best Black Motor album so far, but, indeed the best representation we have heard of Kusti Vuorinen’s musical world, even though the composer himself doesn’t play.
Black Motor consists of the saxophonist Sami Sippola, the bassist Ville Rauhala and the drummer Simo Laihonen. These guys are virtuosi.
Black Motor is the backbone of the music life in the city of Tampere, Finland. The group is equally at home playing with the trumpeter Verneri Pohjola, the guitarist Jukka Orma, the rapper Hannibal Stark, or as here, by itself.
Despite their technical skills the three players manage to convey the loose, easy-going style of Kusti’s music while also remaining unmistakably the very same Black Motor that recorded the trio’s own compositions on the album Vaarat vastukset (Dreamsheep DS008).
This is powerful Nordic folk music interpreted with no-nonsense acoustic jazz instruments. What more do you want?
Und noch Infos zu Joutseno:
Kauriala SocietyERKKI JOUTSENO : RELAXING AT TERVALAMPI -LP INFO
Finnish free jazz veteran Erkki Joutseno has been delivering rumbling beats and an unhinged attitude since the 70’s in various line-ups and style variations, but always coming across with a method to his madness. Discipline and humor meet in his music as they do in his life. This is the first album of Erkki’s own compositions and improvisations, compiled over a lengthy period of time since the mid-00’s. The improvised pieces deliver atonal moods on prepared solo piano, a beautiful ballad and some noisy metal junk duets with woodwinds. The composed pieces range from stillstanding tripping to stomping noiserock.
Erkki Joutseno has travelled across Europe, played on stages and street corners and nowadays lives amidst nature in a small forest house. The compositions on this album are purification trips into different personal infernos and back.
The people involved include players from finnish underground powerjazz long-liners Sound & Fury, Astro Can Caravan and Kuhmalahden Nuubialaiset. The instrumentation ranges from drums, reeds, piano, double bass, etc, to metal junk, alarm clocks and toys.
The album was not recorded in any studio, but slowly pieced together from group sessions at the practice room and smaller scale home recordings.
First pressing on vinyl LP and handmade silkscreened covers to honor the timeless quality of the music, and to spit on the grave of digital mass production and consumption of musical arts.

Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...
