Ich bin ja generell der Meinung, dass die 50er (ein ****1/2 Album) nicht unbedingt die spannendste Dekade im Jazz waren und Hard Bop zusammen mit Cool Jazz der Tiefpunkt (kein ****1/2 Album), so dass das von meiner Seite weniger eine Ergänzung zu den Alben aus den 50ern und 60ern ist, sondern zum größten Teil meine liebsten Jazz-Alben.
Von Bailey halte ich Aida für das beste Album (auch für das beste überhaupt). „New Sights, Old Sounds“ wäre dann noch eine weitere Empfehlung, wenn es eher ausschweifender sein darf.
Das Duo-Album mit Han Bennink ist auch grandios, aber für den Einstieg eher weniger geeignet.
Insgesamt sind fast 3/4 meiner liebsten Jazz-Veröffentlichungen aus dieser Zeit. Habe einfach mal alle ***** und ****1/2 Alben (und Compilations, etc.) aus der Zeit in grober Reihenfolge gelistet, auch EAI-Alben und sonstige Free Improv-Alben.
