In Abwesenheit eines Bud Powell-Threads, hier eine kleine Story von Bill Triglia, wie sie Allen Lowe im Booklet seines neuen Albums „Mulatto Radio: Field Recordings: 1-4“ wiedergibt:
Allen LoweOne of my favorite of his stories is that of Bud Powell showing up on his doorstep in suburban New Jersey one day and asking for refuge from „the junkies and the pushers.“ Bill let him in and Bud then took a nap – a long nap, about three days worth of sleep, while Triglia’s wife panicked about theirs becoming know as „the house where Bud Powell died.“ But Bud, who was indeed still alive, woke up and, without a word to them, left.
