Ein Trompeter, der auf einer Unmenge von Alben zu hören ist, darunter viele Soul-Jazz-Klassiker aus dem Hause Prestige (mit Rusty Bryant, Sonny Stitt, Harold Mabern, Frank Foster, Charles Earland, Don Patterson, Sonny Phillips, Johnny „Hammond“ Smith, Leon Spencer), aber er hat auch bei Philly Joe Jones‘ Dameronia mitgewirkt, spielte auf Billy Harpers „Black Saint“ (der ersten Veröffentlichung des gleichnamigen Labels), wirkte an den Aufnahmen zu Archie Shepps „Fire Music“ mit, sass in den Big Bands von Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Frank Foster, McCoy Tyner und Joe Henderson und taucht auf Milt Jacksons Riverside-Album „Invitation“ oder Roland Kirks „Reeds and Deeds“ und „Roland Kirk Quartet Meets Benny Golson“ auf.
