Seltsam, ich hatte nicht so genau geguckt, es sind ja wirklich mehr als sechs (und „The Coltrane Legacy“ gehört nun nicht unbedingt mit dazu – ist ja alles gute Musik, auch was auf den beiden Resterampen rauskam, aber trotzdem). Mal schauen, das Ding taucht ja anderswo noch gar nicht auf glaube ich, vielleicht gibt es da noch Änderungen?
Aus dem Hoffman-Forum, tut hier eigentlich nichts zur Sache, aber die Frage nach Fold-Downs (was ja eine Erklärung für das Fehlen wäre, betrifft aber anscheinend nur die Prestige und Impulse-Alben):
There was a period of time in which RVG ran both mono and stereo machines. That period ended in October 1958. By November RVG was using only a stereo machine and was cutting mono LP’s by folding down the stereo tape. The mono LP’s during the 1957-58 period are not fold downs.
Atlantic did not use RVG as a recording engineer and did not follow this practice.
