Zuviel der Ehre… 
On Topic: der ungeschliffene Sound findet auch bei mir gefallen, und große Songs habe ich bereits ausgemacht, besonders „Lights In The Sky“ fällt imho in diese Kategorie. Generell macht mir dieses Album mordsmäßig Spaß, und das ist wirklich mal was Neues im NIN-Kontext. Aber da ist sowieso einiges neu, z.B. ist dies das erste NIN-Album überhaupt, welches in klassischer Band-Konstellation eingespielt wurde. Bisher war es ja bekanntlich Trent Reznor + Gastmusiker. Noch ein paar Durchläufe, und ich bin mir der Sterne sicher. Vier werden es sicher.
“Meine Ansicht, dass Trent sich so langsam mal mehr auf Songs und weniger auf Sounds konzentrieren könnte und ihm eine Ladung Johnny Cash-LPs als Inspiration sicherlich nicht schlecht bekämen, halte ich aber bis auf weiteres aufrecht. Vielleicht kehrt er ja doch noch mal irgendwann mit etwas mehr Ambition und Produktivität in Rick Rubins Waldhütte zurück.
Wer weiß, vielleicht wird dein Wunsch beim nächsten Album berücksichtigt. Ich zitiere hier nochmal, was Trent in einem ETS-Thread zur „Discipline“-VÖ geschrieben hatte:

Mein linker Zeigezeh sagt mir, dass in Zukunft bei ihm mit allem zu rechnen ist. Man kann ihm schließlich alles mögliche vorwerfen, aber bestimmt keine stilistische Monokultur. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass er sich jetzt erst einmal in seiner neugewonnen Freiheit austoben muß, und was dabei rauskommt, finde ich bis jetzt ausserordentlich hörens- und beachtenswert. Wenn er sich erst einmal wieder eingekriegt hat, wird es imho wirklich interessant, vielleicht schafft er es sogar, seine alten Glanztaten Downward Spiral und vor allem Fragile zu toppen. Die Klärung dieser Frage wird auf jeden Fall alles andere als langweilig sein!
