Bei in Spirit :D steht Aubrey A. Gass?? – Nie gehört?

Nö. Aber wozu gibt’s das Internetz?

1.

There is a distinct boogie feel to Bill Carlisle’s great call and response ‚Rockin‘ Chair Money‘ (1946) which again benefits from Lanham’s presence. Co-writer Lonnie Glosson provides the harmonica, which makes this the first record on King to feature the instrument. Homer Haynes and Jethro Burns, who had just begun their association with the label, are also heard. This was a popular record soon after it was recorded in late 1946, and clearly inspired the 1949 Aubrey Gass song ‚Dear John‘. Hank Williams must have liked the songs because he would record both, even though he only cut ‚Rockin‘ Chair Money‘ as a demo.
