Jedenfalls liest sich das sehr interessant, was Phil Freeman über die Musik schreibt:

Most recently, an invitation from cornettist Rob Mazurek has led to multipleperformances and two live recordings featuring Sanders and members of Mazurek’s Chicago and São Paulo Underground groups. On the two volumes of „Pharoah And The Underground“, he’s never the dominant voice, choosing instead to move in and out of the sonic jungle, sometimes duetting with Mazurek and other times reacting to the Africa 70-like bursts of electric piano and layers of rhythm created by the rest of the group. It’s clear that his own back catalogue is a major inspiration to everyone involved, but this is futuristic, not backward-looking, music. It’s the best possible context for Pharoah Sanders in the 21st century – still unique, still adventurous, still capable of surprising listeners, whether screaming or not.

Die beiden Alben (CD & LP) sind beim Label lieferbar. Bei Clean Feed ist auch immer eine Direktbestellung am sinnvollsten, da sie portofrei liefern.

Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...
