Schön, dass die Collector’s Edition von der Jazz in Paris Reihe auch noch ausserhalb Frankreichs erscheinen wird!.

Die ersten dreissig Stück erschienen im Mai 2010 in four-fold Digipacks mit Original-Albumcover, im Januar dann auch in Jewel Case-Ausgaben. Im Mai 2011 wurden zehn weitere Stück nachgereicht (bisher soweit ich sehe erst in Digipack-Ausgaben erhältlich, Jewel Case-Editionen folgen bestimmt in ein paar Monaten auch noch).

:: Anmerkungen und Notizen ::
#1-75 (2001 – ohne #8!) und #76-101 (2003) erschienen auch in grossen Boxen.
Die Miles „Ascenseur“ wurde glaub ich mal vorübergehend aus dem Verkehr gezogen (ist eh die überflüssigste CD der ganzen Reihe, da es viel umfassendere CD-Edition schon seit langem gab, als die Jazz in Paris CDs erschienen) und die „Broken Wing“ von Chet Baker verschwand auch.
2007 erschienen Nachpressungen von 40 der früheren CDs – die waren dann in Jewel Cases verpackt (alle anderen sind Digipacks, auch die „Hors série“ Doppel-CDs, und auch die CDs in den Deluxe-Boxen sind in Digipacks, zumindest in der 12CD-Version, in der ich sie besitze)
Eddie Barclay hat die Labels Blue Star und Barclay gegründet, von denen grosse Teile des Materials stammen, das in der „Jazz in Paris“ Serie wieder aufgelegt wurde.

Stéphane Grappellis „Improvisations“ erschien ohne die paar Bonustracks von #42 auch in der Anniversary Reihe von Unviersal France, dort gekoppelt mit dem 25cm Album „Piano à Gogo“, das Grappelli im Trio als Pianisten präsentiert.
Die beiden Dizzy Gillespie-Alben sind 2003 auch als Doppel-CD mit dem Titel The Great Blue Star Sessions 1952-1953 von Universal France (Anniversary oder Heritage Reihe – die sind ja gleich verpackt) noch einmal aufgelegt worden.
Abgesehen von ein paar Ausnahmen, wo ich die Musik in Box-Sets oder auf anderen CDs habe (Kid Ory, Max Roach, Lester Young, Miles Davis) besitze ich die ganze Reihe der regulären CDs, der Hors série Doppel-CDs, und darüberhinaus auch die wunderbare 12-CD-Version der vier Deluxe 3CD-Sets.
Von den Collector’s Editions habe ich bisher wie gesagt erst die Quincy Jones und Jazz Boom N°1 CDs. Da muss ich noch mehr haben. Falls die mal richtig günstig auftauchen kaufe ich wohl sogar ein paar, die ich schon habe, bloss um die tollen Covers zu haben (ich weiss, LP wäre noch wesentlich schöner…)
