Nme.com has a short piece on R.E.M.’s forthcoming record, scheduled to be released in 2004, in which Michael describes the new material as „crystalline and real.“ According to Michael, the band has completed six songs and has another seven which they hope to have finished by mid-January. Songs which the band has been working on include „Weatherman,“ „Make It All Okay,“ „Final Straw,“ and „I’m Gonna DJ.“
