The Davis Quintet embarked on a European tour in late September. The itinerary (with several gaps) was as follows:
September 25: Berlin Philharmonie
September 26: Concertgebouw, Amsterdam
October 1: Salle Pleyel, Paris (two concerts)
October 3: Konserthuset, Stockholm
October 4: KB-Hallen, Copenhagen
October 6: Messuhalli, Helsinki
October 8: Stadthalle, Sindelfingen (two concerts)
October 11: Teatro dell‘ Arte, MilanThe Quintet was booked in other cities as well — e.g. Barcelona and Frankfurt — but I have been unable to find dates or confirm that these concerts occurred.
Ich muss die Sachen mal wieder hervorholen – das Konzert aus Berlin mag ich ja unheimlich gerne, aber das war der Auftakt der Tour, wie das weiterging, halte ich schon für interessant. Aber klar, da gibt’s wirklich schon viel, v.a. auch noch die Plugged Nickel Box.
Dass von 1964 noch was kommt, glaube ich nicht, weil das Material in Europa sofort von den PD-Piraten kopiert würde … aber egal, die Aufnahmen sind ja im Umlauf, ich hätte mich halt einfach über eine offizielle Veröffentlichung gefreut.
