Johnny Marr, ehemaliger zweiter Kopf von The Smiths, wird vollwertiges Mitglied bei Modest Mouse! Marr war zunächst für die Aufnahmen des neuen Albums als Gitarrist rekrutiert worden, doch die Zusammenarbeit hat wohl gut funktioniert laut Modest Mouse-Chef Isaac Brock:
“He made a cautious commitment to write and record with us, and then the tighter we got, he was like, ‘okay, let’s tour too,’” Brock said. “Then he was pretty much a member of the band – not pretty much. He’s a full blown member of the band. It’s really fuckin’ nice.”
