Showdown passt für mich sehr gut auf OTTD. Der Grund, warum er nicht auf allen Ausgaben war, waren tatsächlich die rechtlichen Probleme, die du da andeutest.
Während dieser Monat offenbar dem Xanadu-Musical nebst begleitender Xanadu DVD-VÖ gehört -ob das nun für ELO gut ist oder nicht- hier eine weitere Ausgabe der Reihe „Musiker/Produzenten über Jeff Lynne und ELO“:

Mike said Jeff would have an idea for new part and would pick up any guitar and just do one pass. Mike said he would have to work for hours to do it as well as Jeff did. I’m sure he was exaggerating a bit but those are the kinds of things he was saying about Jeff. You could tell there was lots of respect for him.
Mike Campbell schaut bewundernd zu Jeff auf, wegen seiner Fähigkeiten im Studio. Vor allem bekomme er sehr schnell das, was er wolle, oft in nur einem Take. Während er selbst dafür Stunden brauche.

Also, auch Will.I.Am hat die Einzigartigkeit von ELOs Produktionen erkannt.

Ich hoffe, Du wirfst mich nicht raus, aber diese Anmerkung kann ich mir nicht verkneifen: In Europa kann man nur schwer nachvollziehen, wie Leute, die selber großartige Musik machen, für debile Comic-Figuren wie die Cars oder Cheap Trick schwärmen können…

Roxette
Delurking for a moment… I don’t know if this
has been mentioned previously, but I’m reading a
book about Per Gessle at the moment.
He’s known for Roxette and Gyllene Tider (in
Scandinavia at least). He’s an admirer of Jeff
Lynne and at one point even sent a letter to
Jeff’s management asking if it would be possible
to have him produce the next Roxette album. This
was when Roxette was at their height in
popularity.
Unfortunately (depending on the view, we might
not have had Traveling Wilburys if he’d decided
to produce Roxette…) Jeff was busy producing
George Harrison at that point in time.
But the mind boggles… Having him produce
Roxette who wanted to move more towards the sound
Gyllene Tider had would have been interesting.
And a dream come trough for me.
I just had to share that tidbit. Back to work!
Aha, auch Per Gessle bewundert Jeff Lynne und wollte ihn als Produzenten. Glücklicherweise hatte Jeff Besseres zu tun (obwohl: The Look gefällt mir ja)
