hey folks! Neues aus dem splinters forum.
also, wer Wild Wood und/oder die B-Sides nicht hat, der greife zu!

I Was talking to someone from Universal about this today and this text is taken from the new issue of Mojo out today (UK)

“ BUTTONED DOWN WELLER “

It’s 10 years since the release of Wild Wood , the album that revived Paul Weller’s career . Just the time then , to release a deluxe anniversary ediiton , expanded with B-Sides , demos and rarities .
First off the blocks though , is the tentatively titled B-Sides & Button Downs .
Earmarked for April release this , 2CD collection will gather up stray b-sides , demos and remixes dating from his years at Go Discs and Island . The bonus disc features the many cover versions Weller has recorded for b-sides , including Sexy Sadie , I Shall Be Released , Ohio and Feelin‘ Alright .
According to Universal product manager Andy Street , “ Weller is playing these songs live , yet fans still find it hard to get hold of the recorded versions . Our intention was to put something together that was well-packaged and thought out “
The set is , “ by no means the last word on Paul Weller rarities “ , he adds , citing the bonus material scheduled to appear on the expanded Wild Wood . “ Deluxe editions have been very popular in America and it’s time they came over here „

Schade wärs nur, wenn die Bonus-CD das langerwartete Covers-Album ersetzen würde. Denn die B-Sides haben wir Wellerheads ja längst.

ach ja, auch mal wieder toll, davon nix von Nicky zu hören. :schnarch:
